Default THE GMB II PURE AWESOME

Well once again I had a truely great time. I met some old friends and met some new friends. Motorcyle(dirt)riders have got to be the greatest people in the world. I think we had over 160 something bikes that raced this weekend. We had over 28 in the TT class. There was even some guys who joined in that wasn't even signed up! COOL!!!!!! iT WAS A BLAST. For those of you who didn't come, you missed it big time. I can't do it justice by telling you how much fun I had. My brother(Bryan) has fell in love with Splendora. He said that everybody felt like family right from the start.
I got two surprizes also. Texas twister....what can I say. He is truely a great guy. I assumed he was about 45 or 50,over wt some. WRONG! He is about 6'1 135 soaking wet! Looks like Kevin Windem. Then came YardPRO..............ol my gosh!!!!!!!!Dude! Surf's up!!! Hang ten! Bra!TOTALLY, 4-SURE!Wipe out! KILLER! STOKED!NARLEY!I was shocked. He is the picture perfect example of a surfer. Loved him right off the bat. Have you ever had one of those guys that you loved to listen too. Thats him. Great person also, bra. Yardpro can really ride to. He ain't no high flying fat guy. He is just flying high....no high flying, dude. He can really ride good. Motoman is a giant! He is a big puppy though. You ever send Clifford the Big red dog? Thats him. Man, can he ride. I was most impressed with is riding. He gave all the whole time on the track. I asked him not to do the triple stepup during the race. He was jumping and pointing at the same time! I would point at a jump, then ride. He can truely ride big time. His name fits him.The HOOTS. Zoothoot worked all day long filming. What a awesome man. Truely the example for us all to become. I was amazed at how much he WORKED!!!!For all of us. Thank you Zoothoot from the bottom of my heart. You did not go unnoticed my friend. IMhoot the example of everything good of what we as men look for in a lady. Hoot jr. looked like he had a blast. Awesome young man. Rode his little tail off and then made some NARLEY dirt tracks on the ground. Baby Hoot was just about one of the prettest babys Ive ever seen. For 3 days never made a peep. Always just smiling.
I'll tell more later , Im tired

Same here. I have to say that as I was flagging the first half of the races, Macho would come past me and I could here him yelling and giggleing. I even heard him giggle once when he was about 100 yds from me through the woops. Everyone had a blast! During the TT race, Macho's brother and I were swapping back and forth and I was smiling the while time. Man that was fun! We got ripped off a lap because the fast guys lapped us on lap 3. They went buy me so fast I almost stepped off my bike to see if the chain had fallen off. I was in 3rd gear pinned! Therapture from TT and #101 (forgot his name) from TT flew by us like we were sitting still.

Yardpro was like Macho said. He shocked everyone when we first met him. My first instinct was to yell out "Whoah, it's Spicolli! Knarley dude." He was a great guy and very smart! Motoman was the kind of guy you want on your team when playing football. He is built like a linebacker and is strong as an ox. He can also ride that 450 like it was meant. He flew over the triple i was flagging and pointed at me the whole way.

Zoohoot was the first person I saw when I checked in the hotel and knew it was him from his picture that was posted last week by Dirtbikendad. Super nice and my hat is off to him and his wife for their long trip just to hang out, ride and film. Ima raced in the womens class and I could tell she was having a blast! Baby hoot was the quietest baby I ever saw. She cried once that I know of and that was because her bottle slipped out... I cry when that happens too. I am so glad to have been a part of this event and I hope even more can make it next year because it will give you memories for a lifetime.

Oh yeah, we all got to meet blitz too and he is much quieter than when he posts here but a fine young man! Glad to hear that your mother is doing well, Rob!

I'm going back to bed now so I will get off my soap box and let someone else take over.

My family and I had a great time. It was cool meeting everyone and putting a face with a name. Here's who I personally met or talked to or hung out with yesterday (some for the first time), Mike (Motodad), Suzette and Shannon Berg, YZFRacer, Machoman, Keetoman, Yardpro, Motoman, Cowboyona426 (and his lovely bride Amanda), TexasDirtNap, Kirtwell, Kirtwell Jr. (we have your matchbox cars!), Wyatt, Fastest1, Madman393, BigMaico, KTM250rm, Beastmaster, HLGuthery, I am Bazzy 393 (can this kid ride or what!?!?!), Zoohoot, Imahoot, Blitz393, Brian Bosch......and if I left anyone out I apologize.

What an outstanding group of people!! I am blown away! You WILL NOT find a better group of people! Thank you Mike, Suzette and Shannon for allowing us to be part of your family.

Dont worry MACHO, i still like ya man, hope you and your brother made it home okay and all went well. Meeting guys like you are what riding and having a blast is all about, hope we can get together and do some ridin again. Just remember i still have the power to bring that hemroid cushion for ya next time if ya need it.. But after seeing how you ride,,,you dont need it. A person with flared up roids would be much slower.. LOOL

WOW we had some fast dudes in the Thumpertalk class this year - I did a no-brainer Don Garlits style off the concrete pad and was mid pack in turn one and got more roost than I can remember! haha

Nice to see all you fellas at the race and thanks for making time to be there as I know many of you traveled FAR. It was an honor to race with you guys again.

I would have been at the back of the pack but I would have loved to meet everyone. I know that most of us dirtbikers are really great people I enjoy meeting them. I am always amazed at the dirtbiking community and how nice and helpful everyone is. Never being selfish and lending a hand whenever needed and not being asked. If those people are anything like Woody_CRF and Bates68_03CRF (which it sounds like they were) they are the best and thats who I want to hang with! I am glad you all had fun I really would like to have met Mike and his family just to shake his hand and tell them I am so proud they have channeled their loss into such a great thing as the GMB foundation . I look forward to meeting all of the folks I will meet at the SLC ride in April and to be able to see Bates and Woody again.

Not sure what the real results were but me being the nice guy I am, I waved everyone on after we stopped before the triple to let Mr. berg by and waved everyone on which put me dead last. Yanno what? I don't care because I had FUN!

Therapture and #101 (forgot his name) tied for second place after Mr. berg

I had a blast and as usually started to get teary eye when I was telling everyone goodbye, especially to Suzette Berg. She's just like a mom to me.

Two of the greatest people that really impressed me was harley and yardpro. Both guys were awesome to talk to and just as common as I was. Also Zoo and his family were awesome.

My greatest excitement was to pickup Blitz393 from the airport. Thanks to YZFracer for helping me get somewhat to the airport only 20 mins late to pick Rob up. I thought Clay knew the way, but he was just along for the ride. Rob really is super quiet and we all need to thank his folks for allowing him to come.

Another great pleasure was to finally meet Cowboy and Cowgirl. We have been talking back and forth since the day they both joined ATM and to finally meet them in person was awesome.

Thanks to everyone else, it was great seeing my friends I call my brothers once again and look forward to it again.

Also Howard and his wife cooked a fine meal on Saturday evening and also the Berg's feed us both on Friday night and at the races. Thanks to you all too.

GMB II was indeed AWESOME! We just got in, so I am a bit too tired to post my summary and pics now, but I will do it tomorrow for sure.

To say the very least it was wonderful to meet so many fine ATMers, and I cannot wait until next year to do it again.

The gbm was awesome.

I am still in awe of the great people there. I am so glad I could make it. It was well worth the almost 3000 miles.

Here’s a run down of the people I met.

First was motoman, as most know we rode together. He came several hours out of his way to pick me up in Knoxville. He is a great guy. We got along super. I am so horse from yapping with him, that I can barely talk now. He is awesome.

The bergs are great too. motoman and I were the first ones at thier house Friday, and were able to get some time in with Mr. berg. He is great at making each person feel like they are a special guest. I wish we lived closer to them. They are a wonderful family.

Keetoman was nice enough to let me ship a pipe to him and bring it to the bergs Friday night so I could get it on for sat. practice. He was every bit the cool cat that I expected. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him (I wish I could have had more one on one time with him, as well as many others). Thanks, keeto hope we can chat some more, I had a bunch of ?'s for you.

Texas twister was a big surprise. Many of us had him pegged as a 40+ old foggy. He was a young (33) thin guy that was very cool. He was great to talk with. Great sense of humor. and as someone else said he had a sweet bike. He was a great guy. I’m going to try to get he and his pretty fiancée (who is a law enforcement officer - man that was a shock) up here to do some scuba diving.

machoman
Well, I cannot say enough about this guy. He was the biggest surprise to me. He is SO FUNNY. I cannot describe how much I liked this guy. He has a very dry sense of humor. You have to pay attention while talking to him. He’ll get you and you won't even know it. Getting to know him has changed the way I read his posts. He was awesome. His brother, although quieter was also a true pleasure to meet. I’d love to get down to visit those dudes and do some bark busting.

Blitz was another of the guys that I did not get to spend enough time with. He was another very cool cat that I regret not making the time to get to know better. I also wish he could have ridden with us, but his parents put the big NO on that option. He came in late Friday after motoman and I were overcome by the sleep deprivation we had just gone through, then sat we rode all day long, and Sunday was the race. He was quieter than I would have thought (or at least more so than online )

madcow was another quiet one in person. He is a cool guy as well. You can that he is bills son. Very helpful. I was totally surprised by his appearance. I was not expecting a tall black-haired good-looking kid. We were a minority there with red bikes.

.

Big maco
Watch out for this guy. He’ll try and grab your butt and kiss you if you’re not careful. He put up with all of us degenerates, and let us trash his house, and was a great host the whole time. He let me ride his SWEET ktm 525. Man what a bike. It flew the triple great. Then he conned be into riding the maico 490 next. It had a great motor and NO BRAKES. I almost had to pull the Fred Flintstones brakes

Vintage Dave was equally as cool, but I didn’t get to talk with him much. He’s a super smart guy. He is a walking dirtbike encyclopedia that is pretty darn fast on one as well. That’s a rare combo. (He also rides a crf, so that makes him even cooler) I want to thank him and big M for showing me how cool and potent the “buckets of bolts” could be. There was a mugen replica there and a factory yamaha, man it was cool.

Rick is a big kid on a sugar buzz. He’s great. It was good to finally meet him. I hope to get to TNT with him in July to talk with him some more.

Ima and zoo were golden. They had us beat for the longest trip by about 100 miles. They are a great family. Ima is so sweet. Zoo isn’t bad either They are wonderful people, but were so busy helping with the event, and caring for their adorable little girl that we didn’t chat much either.

MADMAD IS SOO COOL. He rode with motoman and I to the practice; totally not what I expected. He IS a madman. Very cool cat. He was a lot of fun to BS with. Even though he tried to take me out on the start of the second moto of his race (to eliminate his most fearsome competitor of course )l think he is an ultra cool guy.

Cowboy was super cool as well. He had a super sweet, beautiful wife that keeps him in line. He’s a very lucky guy. He deserves it though. He’s killer nice. I think the red side got ahold of him a little. I wonder is anybody get pics of him on the honda or the ktm.???

I wish I had had a week to just soot the breeze with all the members there. I couldn’t get to know all the members as well as I wanted, and wanted to talk with them all more, but time ran out.

I briefly met satch. He was another very cool guy that I would like to have BS’ed with more.

texas dirt nap was awesome. He was a super nice guy and fast for an old fart

I am sure I am missing quite a few people. It was such a great trip, with so much to take in and so many awesome people that I am still processing the whole thing. ( not to mention just coming off a 23 hour drive). I am bummed that I don’t live closer, and am depressed that I will not be able to hang with these people more often. Everybody, and I mean everybody was simple awesome. I want to thank everyone for the experience

Yardpro,

From some of your post, we all thought you were going to be this one tough B.A. dude that nobody wants to miss with.

Let me tell you all, Yardpro is super nice and would do anything for ya. From his post, he does not B.S. and gives it to you straight with no sugar coating.

Yardpro needs to put the title under his screen name and say:

Sorry about not getting to chat with you more Yardpro. I was running around trying to meet everyone. Next year bro! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or call me. You're one cool guy! Congrats on your second place in your last race! That was awesome to watch!

You are right about Vintage Dave! That man can smoke! Four 1st place finishes: 2 in the EVO class on his 82? CR480 and 2 in the over 40 class on his 03 CRF450. AND he led all the races by at least 20 seconds!
