Default Thank You GMB Memorial Foundation!!

First I’d like to start by saying what a great young man Garret was during his short time with us. My buddy Alex Priebe and I had the pleasure of working with him for several months at the local Yamaha shop up until his passing. I had a blast riding, racing and working with Garrett!

A few weeks ago I heard through some mutual friends that my friend Alex’s son Max had Leukemia. That night, on my way home from work I called Mr. Berg to check on him and his family, that day being the anniversary of Garrets accident. Somewhere during the conversation Max’s illness came up. Without hesitation, and on blind faith, he offered a generous financial donation from the GMB Memorial Foundation to the Priebe family.

I just wanted to say thank you to Mr. Berg and the GMB Memorial Foundation on behalf of the Priebe family. This donation along with other forms of help has been greatly appreciated.

Please keep Max in your thoughts and prayers. I will try and keep you all updated on his progress.

Jeff Ewing

Jeff,

Thank you for letting me know of this challenge for the Priebe Family. It is the GREAT people of ATM and others that make the Garrett Berg Memorial Foundation possible. Thanks ATM for all you do and have done to help others!

For those who do not know, Alex Priebe (Max's Dad) and Jeff Ewing worked with Garrett at Texas Yamana and they both ride a YZ450F.

A bit of history here - one day, unannounced, Alex came to my front door on Sunday, September 22, 2002 the evening of the day that Garrett died. He had tears in his eyes and presented me with the poem entiled "The Dash." Alex told me that they read this poem at his Grandfathers funeral as said it was a tribute to his Grandfather. Alex also told me the felt that no one would be worthy of this poem again - that is he said, "until I heard that Garrett died." He told me that this poem "reminded him of Garrett and the kind of life person he was." I had never seen the poem "The Dash" before. I read it and cried. Alex hugged me and told me how sorry he was for our loss. He walked away with tears in his eyes.

I have a high respect for Alex Priebe, his wife and children. Alex is the kind of man who would give you "the shirt off his back" and has a hand shake that lets you know he is a man of his word. Alex has helped many people over the years with fixing hot rods and such. He is an excellent mechanic and a good Dad. He is like many of us and he "married way over his head." His wife is another incredible Mom!

Please continue to keep the Priebe Family and Max in your prayers and continue to support this family as you feel lead.

From the "Bottom of my heart" I THANK YOU ALL for your prayers and support for the Priebe Family.

Sincerely,
Mike, Suzette & Shannon Berg

I've never had the pleasure of meeting the Priebe Family, but I recognize Max from my son Corbin's little league sports ~ This one hits close to home. Please include Max and his family in your prayers.

Thanks again for your kind words. As you can see on the above flyer, Max is having a benefit this weekend in Friendswood TX just up the road from Mr. Berg's place. We hope to see some of you there!

I spoke with Alex Max's father, he says Max is in good spirits and that his treatment is on schedule.

Jeff

Not sure how I missed this one. Right here, as you have read above, you have a perfect example of the legacy of Garret M. Berg at work. The GMB Memorial Foundation is a fantastic organization and it all refelcts back onto the membership of ATM. What a great group of people!!

Prayers out to the Priebe family.

This is a PERFECT way to describe ATM and the reason why the GMB Memorial Foundation can help fellow riders in need - it is YOU ATM that make it all possible!

Hey ATM,
Last Sunday Suzette and I attended this Benefit for Max. When we pulled up to the park in Friendswood there we easily 400 to 500 people attending. They had the jump houses for the kids slides, face painting, BBQ and other events - including a silent auction.

Personally, I was blown away from the participation of this community. I spoke with Max's Mom and Dad and he is responding well to the treatments. Max is energetic and continues to have a GREAT attitude. I will try and get a further update, but the family remains very humbled and appreciative for the outreach from the MX community.

Thanks ATM for being what you are.

Sincerely,
Mike Berg

Thank you Mr. Berg for the update. This new is certainly encouraging and it sounds like Max is being positive aboutthe whole thing. I'm glad the GMB Foundation can have a part in Max's recovery.
