Default What's in your...Tool Box? / MMI Smack Talk Thread.

You are heading out to your favorite riding spot. You have your trusty tool box. Inside are the necessities for the what may come. But not a bunch of stuff you wont need.

If you ride anything other than a Honda, you probably have, duct tape, bailing wire, a hammer, perhaps a pair of pliers. Just kidding.

I'm assuming 8 through 16mm sockets and open ends, screwdrivers. Maybe a roll of electrical tape, WD40, silicone spray, chain wax, plastic zip ties, spark plugs.

So, what do you find necessary in your box?
Let's build the perfect tool box for the motocrosser.

-surgical gloves so you dont dirty your hands.
-baby wipes to freshen up between motos
-fabreze for the helmet
-band aids for the nipples
-baby powder for your gloves
-a change of undies when you barely clear that big double

I ride a Yamaha, I don't carry tools with me.

Having just typed that, I'm sure my bike is imploding as I sit here

Well, ya left out us desert/cross country riders and I can tell you are talking 2 strokes because you penned spark plug as plural.

Sure did, back in the 60's when the desert was so hot we changed from T-shirts to a riding jersey because it had vented holes and was cooler than the T-shirt.

That was back when motocross was only in Europe. Then Torsten Hallman and a guy named Robert showed up and started the beginning.

I carry a bunch with me.... Not for MY bike mind you, but I'm "that guy" that will alway's help another rider out when in need. I'll try not to throw my shoulder out (MotoMan) patting myself on the back here but I carry, extra brake and clutch levers, brake fluid, chain lube, air filter oil, safety wire and tool, full set of "t" handles and open end wrenches, screwdrivers, diagnal cutters, cresent wrench, spark plugs, pliers, extra grips, you get the picture. I keep it all in an old milk crate that is always ready to go so it's just one more thing to load in the truck. I maintain my bike meticulously so I have very rarely had to make a repair on my own scoot but, I do like to help other riders out. I think it's just the REAL motorcycle rider in me.

Oh, I guess I did single out motocross. Sorry. I used to have extra levers in my box back when. I'm going to be building a tool box for going to the track. Also, I'm going to be setting up my garage for my bike. I suppose I'll be building a work bench. I do have a ceiling fan I park my bike under after I hose it off!

I suppose a tube or patches are in order for the tool box. Honda shop has a box of misc nuts and bolts for bikes. Seems to have just about anything that might work loose and get lost.

ya'll forgot master links. I have two of everything in tools. If I use it to work on my bike I put it in my race tool box also.A small air compressor has been a life savor for me.

Thats funny.

I have enough tools in my race box to completely tear the bike down the frame, that way I have whatever I may need.
