Cool Understanding arm pump

Okay, anyone that rides has more than likeley expieranced arm pump in the forearms. Most of you know there are various methods to prevent it, but how many of us actually do it correctley. I found this clip which gives a good overview on why and how to change, to make your riding a little more pleasant!

Very intresting.

I've never done much stretching until after I've had it.

body position for me has more to do with arm pump than anything. If I'm not anticipating going faster by leaning forward, then I get pumped up bad. If I do, I don't.

one thing he didnt touch in the video is when you practice and the arms start to pump, to slow down and ride through it. I recently learned that if you stop to rest or go take a break at the truck your arms get trained to pump quicker cause they know you will rest them. If you continue to ride through it, which for me means slowing down and just riding around you will start to train the arm not to pump. Then vein size will increase and over time will become less problematic. This video was good though, I did everything he said the last few weekends out and it helped a grip. Thanks Pig!

I'll have to give the forearm stretching a try before a race. I usually get arm pump the first couple of times I'm out on a track, which is no big deal when we're just riding, sure sucks for racing though. Maybe this'll help.

Oh yeah..and thanks pig.
