Living in Florida I ride sand all the time and have blown many inner tubes riding with low air in the tires. So I just run 14 in the rear and like 12 in the front

The unwritten rules as I know them are a soft tire for a hard track and a hard tire for soft track - not just compound, but profile as well. Tread pattern should be correct for the terrain and soil.

Less pressure flattens the contact area and creates more grip on a hard track. I would be cautious running any less than 12 PSI - you run a greater risk of pinching a tube or dinging your rim. I think you are better served by using the correct tread configuration and compound for the conditions and making only minor changes in pressure.

Flattening the surface of the tire by less air is actually for sand but it is useless for a bike because the tube will pinch. But your right about the correct tire,I like to run dunlop 756's for almost everything but hard terrain.

Hey Cody - have you ever tried the 755 for sand? It about as close to a paddle tire as the AMA will allow.

I ran a 755 front and rear at a few Beach-crosses (very deep sand) a few years ago. It works better in deep sand than the 756 (what i usually run otherwise). The 756 is an awesome tire for the rest of the terrain I ride.

I've never seen the 755 but I'm running a 773 on the rear of my CRF250R and am very happy with it. On my KX250 I'm running a Pirelli Lagunacross MT44 and it's the best sand tire I have ridden with bar none but for some reason I think Pirelli discontinued them. Both bikes: 12psi front, 10psi rear.

The tire link I provided has the new perelli tire and it is very close to the one you had.
