Default Jumping

I looked at my video of me riding last week and I noticed every time I jump my body lurches forward and I look really tense..and like an idiot. Should I just try to relax? Any help would be nice

Without seeing you, I'd say relax is probably a key, but the only way to learn to relax is to practice more

Just remember to breathe when you're in the air. To get comfortable... try moving around on the bike in the air. It doesn't really have to be purposeful, but it'll get you more relaxed.

Also, make sure you've got everything right before you even leave the ground. If you take off too far back in the saddle, you'll be out of control completely... too far forward and you run the risk of endoing. So make sure you take off in a nice, neutral position so you can better control your flight. That might also help to keep you relaxed in the air.

I'll also add keeping a steady throttle is key. Not hard accelerating and definitely not shutting down on the face. Once you gain confidence, you can overcome the effects of either with body postion and air braking.

Good luck

Prag gives great advise . I currently have a broken leg by trying to overcome getting squirrly approaching a double out in the desert. I ended up gassing it too much in the end off the face which threw me way to high and not enough forward. Needless to say I came down squarley on the top of the other sides landing. Amazing what about two feet too short will do. I don't even think Bubba or the GOAT's susp would've saved me.

HMMM! Maybe I could invent a footpeg suspension .

Sounds like great advise. I will try these techniques myself.

That would actually be pretty awesome! I could see something like that coming in handy on particular terrain ... Hell...I'd buy it.
