Please please don't try to learn how to whip from an article, you'll just end up hurt. It will come with time and feel natural, if you asked me how to explain how to do it, I would be at a loss for words.

Lol. I did get some things i didnt know before though. I might be able to practice it tomorrow if i go riding. The jump is a 30 ft tabletop that i had a blast jumping last week. No this was not at a track. It was at my friends house and most of it is trails but there are some jumps.

This link has been posted before. It is actually pretty valuable if you are wanting to progress to the next level. Just remember to take baby steps as you move forward! And remember, the "next level" is different for all of us. If you're old like me, just bringing the bike back under you from a cross-rut is a great accomplishment. Pressure on the swing arm works wonders!

I could never whip overly well, but I am pretty sure that the biggest factor of throwing a succesful whip is SEAT-TIME. Fast guys can throw their bike around and control it easily in the air because of seat-time and talent. Ride more, become confident and you will probably not be wondering how to whip it but feeling for it as you become more experienced at jumping. JMO

I agree Geoff, seat time and learning the basics first will get you the needed skill to do tricks.

Silly , tricks are for kids!
