Default Yea!!!! My bike runs!!

I got all my parts yesterday and put the 450 back together last night. It fired on the 3rd or 4th kick. I let it run for a few seconds then stopped it and checked fluids and such, then it started right back up again. I am going to take valve cover off again tonight and double check everything and then take it for a spin.
I want to thank Ron and Eric for all there help getting me going.
If any problems come up I'll keep everyone posted, but expect none!! Cool!!!!!!!!!!

So if you don't mind, what did you have done, and how much did it end up costing?

Just valve and spring replacement, new rings and piston.
Not really that bad price wise.

Good news. I would invite you down to ride this weekend, but I don't have pontoons for our bikes!

It is in my garage now for 3 weeks!

Good Going Vet!! I consider myself a mechanicaly inclined person but I dont know if I would tackle a 4x. Those 450 4 strokes appears to be pretty complicated.

I know you were happy when that thing fired up on the first couple of kicks...makes you smile doesnt it? It makes you want to take it out on the street with a sign that reads, I just built this motor..listen to her purr..LOL

Is this your first 4x you have built?

On this bike, yes. Long ago I built a couple 289 mustang engines.
Worked on alot of 2 stroke then also. But this is first in many years. Yes is is a great feeling to be able to know you had something to do with the bike other than airing up the tires.
Plus my son gets to see the process and maybe gives him the confidence to take on things like this.
But actually, this engine was designed well, so it wasnt that bad. There are a few things I think could have been done differantly I think. But there are is lots of room to build some special tools to make things a little easier next time.
