Well I traded my yamaha to my brother for a lake lot. So now I only have the honda. I'm more comfortable in the woods and do 90% of my riding there, so I decided to make it another woods weapon. I just ordered my parts 1. moose skid plate 2.cycra pro bend bark busters 3. Rad braces 4. Pro Recluse auto clutch other than that I will try and set it up like the yamaha 1. less air in the tires(10 to 15 lbs depending on the trails) 2. soften up the rear/front suspension on the rebound

10-15 lbs is LESS air, wow, what were you running before? FYI that is a pretty interesting ride to me. (Did your lake come with fish? Do ducks land there upon coming south?) The crfx has the same second gear as the crf 250 does it seems. low is lower though, just about 8 percent if i remember working it out. I have an offer in on a basket case crf250 now, and if i get it, I will put that lower 1st in it for woods riding, and then probably raise the overall gearing a little bit(dropping 3 teeth off the back or adding one to the front) will still yield a slightly lower low gear and a high enough high to make the gravel roads I sometimes find myself on (or pavement) a little easier to take.

One of the best 4 strokes I have ridden was Pop's 250X and it would be a top contender for another woods bike.

[QUOTE=ossagp;525333]10-15 lbs is LESS air, wow, what were you running before? It depends on the terrian I'm riding. If its muddy I run around 12 and 10. If its rocky hard pack 14 and 15. FYI that is a pretty interesting ride to me. (Did your lake come with fish? Do ducks land there upon coming south?) The lake is Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs. The lot is at Buckville. They held the bassmasters there this year(Scott Suggs won). It has fish and national forrest surrounding it...deer,ducks fish, bears and turkeys. But not alot of ducks...mostly coots and woodies. AS FOR THE BIKE: I'll soften up the rear and leave the front pretty much the same. I've rode all my bikes this way. Jedi,FYI I'm dropping down to c-class to race with my brother

I have a rekluse on the 450r and it is great. Turkeys yes turkey season is only 3 months away here, the problem is my son tugging on my shirt to ride since he has been bottled up all winter. Multitasking is tough business>

Actually, we only have A and B. +40 Amateur is in the B class. I'm just hoping to carry a mid-pack speed this season and learn something every race. Drop on down and race that class with me.

The more the merrier. Hope you can make it. Just a heads up, though. Talihina isn't chiseled in stone yet. OCCRA is keeping it on the schedule but it depends on the race organizers in Talihina proper. The land issues need to be settled by then. My fingers are crossed!

I got the probend bar busters installed after wacking off an inch on each side of the bars. They look better and no need to cut my levers

Macho I am super interested in a ride report with that rekluse. Have you had an auto clutch on any of your previous steeds, and what made you decide on the pro instead of the base model?

yea Ive had them on my 02 yz250f, 03 yz450f, and my 06 yz250f. They all worked great. I had the gen II 399.00 model without the perch adjuster on those bikes. But this time I went with the proclutch model. More rekluse hardwear, less time to install , less maintenance and it seems you leave your clutch still intact! This is for feathering the clutch when needed. I hope to ride it tomorrow and let you know if the price is worth the extra bling. I got it for 500.00. No question it makes woods rding funner and cornering faster....the only down side I've found is you can't bump start or pull start your bike with one.

Proclutch worked like a dream! Best of both worlds. I decrease my lap times in my woods track by minutes. You still use your old clutch cable and lever, with a little adjusting its like its still there except..............no stalls and you don't have to use it. Not to mention no hand pump and I went longer faster with ease!!!!!I give it a three thumbs up.
