Default What should I do

I'm thinking about trading my 1996 cr125 for a 2006 crf230f . I do mostly trail riding and during the winter i do some pond riding. I was wondering would i like the power of the crf230. I'm comfortable with the cr and i like the power . How much power does the 230 have?

The CRF 230 is going to seem a lot more docile than your 125. They make pretty good power for what they are, and for your type of riding I think it will suit you much better.

The biggest difference besides the power would be the weight. The 230 is pretty heavy.

The CRF230F has nowhere close to the power of a 125. I can't quote you horsepower or anything. But your question is about power. Bear in mind that modern 250 four strokes compete in what use to be the 125 class. I think you would be disappointed with the 230F. You better ride one before buying it if at all possible.

I have a 06 crf230f and i love it. it has has power it weighs 250 pounds it goes 65 stock and gets there pretty quick. an easy way to give it A LOT more power is to take the baffle out of the exaust and take the snorkle out of the air box and then rejet it. one thing that i love about this bike is that there is almost no maitnense only change the oil and wash and oil the air filter and your good to go. this bike is the most reliable bike i have ever owned it has never broke down on me ever (and i ride it pretty hard) and it is very well ballenced. if u weigh more than 200 pounds u should get different spings that r avalible from BBR.

My Yamaha dealer told me that the TT-R 230 isn't worth the money and actually recommended the CRF... that was about 3 years ago though so maybe they have changed.
