swapping xr600r into 400ex

Default swapping xr600r into 400ex

Hi new to forrum.
Can anyone tell me which is suction and which is return on a xr600r 86' motor.I ahve taken on the task of stuffing this bad boy into a 400ex quad chasis.Any help much appreciated.

Umm...I'm at a loss as to what you are asking. Do you mean the oil system and if so at which point?
Also, where is Welland?

Default stuffing a 600 into a 400ex

hi sorry what i am looking for is the oil line info on a xr600r
which line is which there is a short one and a long one which is supply and which is return/i plan on using an external tank that the 400ex came with as much as possible.

Rick, I'm looking at a 83-86 XL600R service manual.
Looking at the front, directly at the exhaust ports, the 2 oil lines come out of the lower left engine case. The line on the left side, highest port, is the fat line (long) and is the "outlet" line which leads to the top of the XL frame.
The line to the right side, lowest port is the "inlet" line (short) to the oil pump and comes out the bottom of the front down tube of the frame.

I may be able to scan the diagram and send it to you but I have a little learning to do. Hope this helps.
