As a matter of fact, rbm33 removed the Honda stabilizer after a couple of test rides and mounted his Scott's on the fender. We do more cross country racing now than mx and I think the Honda stabilizer is more geared for mx.
I just had a chance to read the Cycle News review, sounds like an awesome bike. It does appear as though the Honda stablizer is more suited for mx.

It IS a awesome bike man....like I have said its the best one that I have EVER owned and I really really liked my 03 YZF450....but this thing leaves it way behind.

Just awesome in every respect.

My only complaint is the airbox.....the sedistic dude that designed that horrid small place should be strung up by his toes.

Oh man, stop it already or I'm going to find myself at a dealership grabing one up.

I have to chime in and say that my switch from blue to red went so easily I can't imagine being on anything else. With a few offroading mods for what I do this is the best bike I have ever owned. It does everything well, it turns, it is stable, it soaks up whatever I throw at her and those brakes keep me smiling. This bike also never seems unsettled running wide open across the pasture. It seems to settle down and handle stuff where my last YZ seemed to want to bounce the rear from side to side.

And hey Jim, you know that filterskins were designed with the CRF's in mind right.... clean your filter by pulling a string... Never had a reason with the YZ but I'm gonna try it on the CRF.

Yeah I will, if I cut off 3 fingers and my thumb.

That may be a posibility......good thought! Although on Shoup's '08 250f the airbox is MUCH more accessible then my 450....ALOT more.
