I actually think the dual exhaust is pretty sweet. But than I got to thinking. if they made both pipes the same weight, there'd still be more weight on the right side, because of where the pipe connects to the cylinder. It's probably not on the 450 because the 450 is the BEST 450 out of all the manufacturers.

Yeah, it looks good. Another reason why it's probably not on the 450 is because Kawasaki would have to steal it just like the did to honda's 450. If you look at 2 pictures of the 2006 CRF450 and KX450F you'll see that both bikes are exactly the same. I wonder who's idea it was to take a honda and put green plastics on it :

Honda claims its only purpose is to move some of the weight forward to centralize the weight. I don't think they are claiming it is less weight or to have more power, is it a "technical marvel"? No. Just something that may work....... unless the guy on the blue bike is a better rider.

Look closer schwen, they are similar but not the same. Look at all the manufactures prior to alloy frames, not much difference at all.

Yeah, I'm a little puzzled why Honda is marketing it as a "better balance" thing. Come on. 99% of the base Honda riders couldn't tell the difference in a few ounces/grams either way! : I know tens of thousands of dollars went into this research. Surely it was to get the leg up on quieter exhaust rather than a better balanced bike. : I'm just not buying the balance thing.

jedi, they are actually not quieter at all. They are probably a tad louder if anything.

However, back to the original question. Suzuki actually ran 2 pipes on the RMZ450 in the last rounds of the MX season.

Its called Phsyc

I think it has no advantage one way or the other, if you cant balance a bike on your own then two pipes aint gonna make a bit of differance.

I believe this

Honda took a hard hit with the 250 last few years, with bad press on valves exploding as well as unreliable.

Now i know I will get heat for this, But when I have three friends out of 5 that are having issues from valves gettting sucked to heads exploding well Nuff Said. I know some are not having issues, But facts is Facts.

now back to CYA (Cover Yer )

Honda did some work to improve the 250, Yamaha put more work into the 250

Its call Physc and marketing. Those who bleed red will always bleed red, those Blue will bleed blue

Kind like Dems vs Reps Dont matter who's on the bike or in office when one sucks they all suck

actually the duel system is for heat reduction for the exhaust valves. This also gives a higher increase of reduced head pressure from single port heads. When working with the tensile strenght of ferous metals on heated sections it will reduce the fail ratio of stretched valves. This will inturn increase the life on ported(or duel) chamber heat exchange pipes.

If further knowledge is needed let me know. I would think you men would not post on something you know nothing of.

I was out at Skeeters about two weeks ago and a new CR250F was racing. It sure sounds louder than a single pipe CR250F!

The rider had it pinned trying to catch some guy on a YZ250F..... never did catch that Yamaha! Must have been Dubach eh? JK folks. He was chasing a Yamaha though

It very well may be that it's Phsyc, but you can't say the 450's aren't doing it since Suzuki did it as well. Whether it helps or not is a totally different question. I can't see why it wouldn't. But I sure wouldn't want to buy 2 pipes.

well I did make up everything I said before, but I wonder if they are thinking heat displacement to reduce some of the valve issues. I really do see this type of stuff in the extruder field(heat exchange),it kinda makes sence to me. A faster cooling off time frame.

I will bet money that single aftermarket pipes will become available. I want an aftermarket left number plate too! The curve is too hard to put graphics on.
