Unhappy How To Check Valve Clearance??

Got a Honda 250R, and cant get it started. I think its because of the valves, but iv never done anything with them b4. any tips??

If you have the manual, it's easy.

You'll need feeler gauges of course, but otherwise, it's a very simple job.

Just take your time and make sure you are at TDC, and you should be good to go.

yah, my crf250r is always having this problem. starting it is wicked hard, and it backfires ocassionaly. But its a really easy job, all you need to do is just follow your manual and use feeler gauges.

Keep in mind that 4-strokes can be notoriously difficult to start. I am not saying your valves might not need some TLC but it's very unlikely they are far enough out to keep it from starting unless there was a mechanical event that caused damage.
