I'm not positive but I think it would be around 33-34hp, measured at the rear wheel.

Stock- the CRF250 makes 35 ponies, and the YZ250f makes 37.

That's just a little bit optomistic, but close.

A lot for a 125 classed bike stock either way you look at it.

It all depends on which dyno was used...and where (elevation ect.) .I've seen numbers from 27 to 35 hp. Dirt rider just tested the crfx and got 27hp. Did some mods and got the number up to 31hp. It sure is a fun bike to ride! Even funner with a RHC motor!!

If the numbers were taken on a Dynojet and were corrected, it doesn't matter where they were taken.
They actually put out comparable HP to the 125 2 strokes, whatever the number.

I don't think the Honda is that close to the YZF. I ridden both back to back. The honda is a dog like the CR125 in bone stock form.

I don't know whether its a mistake but on the Honda.co.uk website the CRF250R has 42bhp stock.

You mean the CRF-250 only puts out like mid-30's HP? Thats it? That's pretty low since the '85 RM125 I had as a kid back in the '80s was dynoed at 34hp with no mods. Yeah, it would hang with 500cc 4-strokes of that time period (at least up to 60mph anyway)
That was one quick bike I do have fond memories of it, nice bike great handling and suspension for the time period. That thing was a light switch though, you were either on the pipe, or not on the pipe. Not on the pipe was barely enough to pull your own weight, there was nothing there at all. I'm sure the new 4-strokes at least have some low end to get you moving right?
