depending on terrain, most guys run the Dunlop 756 which is a real nice front tire (much better than it's rear counterpart)

also, the S-12 or M-12 are great fronts from Michelin.

the 756 and S-12 are both soft terrain tires, and the M-12 is a more all-around type of tire.

I'm very picky about my front tire. I use a Dunlop 773 and love it!

I currently have the Michellin M-12 front tire, and LOVE it. It wears like IRON, and after 8 months of use it still has it's edges.

I've riden with plently of different front tires, and based on the terrain around here, the M-12 front tire is the best yet.

Not many people use them but Michelin Starcross tires are excellent. I used to run the mh2 front and rear and they were the best tire I've ever used. Grip well in a very wide range of ground and they last a while too. If you ride softer terrain then the ms2 would be a better choice probably.

Mostly, loam on top of hard pack, or good ole hard pack.

However, it's ran well in the dunes too. And in the sand at one of the tracks I ride.

One of my buddies (mxerhale) rode my bike and absolutely LOVED the tire (he's a good rider too, and has used ALL sorts of different tires). It just sticks pretty much everywhere, and again, it wears like iron.

I guess if you like to buy new tires a lot, then don't get the M-12.
