Question CRF450(R and X) Service Manual info needed

Hello everyone,

I need some data from a Genuine Honda Service Manual for the CRF450R (2002-2005) and CRF450X (2005) models. I'm only looking for info from the real McCoy, not from a Haynes or Clymer manual. What I'm looking for is the gear ratios for the transmissions from those models. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to put together a wide-ratio transmission for my 2002 CR250 using various Honda parts from other models. I know the 2002 CRF450R used some tranny parts from the CR250 so it should be possible to make this work.

Here's an example of what info I'm looking for, which was found on page 1-4 of my 2002-2003 CR250R Service Manual:

2002 CR250R transmission data:
Primary Reduction: 3.000 (63/21)
Final Reduction: 3.692 (48/13)
Gear Ratios, 1st: 1.800 (27/15)
2nd: 1.470 (25/17)
3rd: 1.210 (23/19)
4th: 1.000 (21/21)
5th: 0.869 (20/23)

The gear count (in parentheses) is the most important info to me, but please post both items if you don't mind. Ideally, I'd like info on all four years of CRF450R and also the CRF450X info.

Thanks much for the help.

Default Re: CRF450(R and X) Service Manual info needed

Here ya are:

Primary reduction 2.739 (63/23)
Final Reduction 3.846 (50/13) 2002-2003
3.692 (48/13) 2004-current
Gear ratio 1st 1.800 (27/15)
2nd 1.470 (25/17)
3rd 1.235 (21/17)
4th 1.050 (21/20)
5th 0.909 (20/22)

As far as I know the CRF hasn't had a tranny change since it's inception.

I don't have specs on the CRFX, sorry.

Thanks much for the info, Dave. Looks like the CRF has shorter tranny gearing than the CR so CRF450R innards aren't going to help me.

Anyone got the CRF450X info? Anyone? Bueller? Please don't make me wade through a few dozen Cycle News magazines....
