Oh I don’t know I was just looking a neglected bike and that always upsets me a bit.
He remarked about how often he changed the oil while everything else was left unattended.
When you said the key was a clean air filter and to change the oil I kinda snapped a bit. Of course, dirty air filter and burned oil is bad for your motor but clean air and oil won’t fix it either.

Certainly not. My point/question is if clean air and oil help prevent the type of wear common to these motors or if the issue is more that of poor design/engineering.

The ‘05 seat material was too hard and would eat valve faces prematurely, and sometimes chip. Have the BeCu seats installed is a good way to solve that problem if you decide to keep. It will take some extra money to put this bike where it should have been initially.
