Default 2006 CRF450X Problem

HI, I went dirtbiking the other day with my friend that has the R version of my bike. He got on mine and went to crank back the throttle and the bike had a major flat spot and sometimes stalls. This bike is fairly new his is older. I've been reading some forums through this site and have come to the conclusion that i should adjust the fuel screw. I did that and varied it between 1.5 and 2 turns back and it did nothing for me. Is it the float bowl?

When I have always messed with the fuel screw, I have refered back to what I was always taught when jetting a carb for a car. If the jetting is right the fuel screw should be 2 tull turns out from the fully seated position. From there make adjustments in 1/4 turns either direction and try it out.

With these new "pumper" carbs on bikes, when you crack the throttle really fast, it squirts fuel into the engine. More times that not this can be the issue with the flat spot when cracking the throttle. If your bike is running fine when not cracking the throttle its probably not the fuel screw.
