YZSKY.. (Husky CR125/Yamaha YZ125 crossbreed) won't rev past 3/4 throttle

I had the exact same problem with my brand new '06. I switched to a non-resistor plug and the engine would shut off once it got on the pipe. Malcolm Smiths store in Riverside said go back the resistor because a non-resistor will cause it to just shut off. Haven't had a chance to test it since been raining for the past two weeks, but I'm confident that was it.

We've actually been up to he top of the 'bings' a few times, the hills facing you in the video are at almost a 45 degree angle . The only bike I've ever seen making it to the top in one shot was a 4 stroke 450.. and even then he only just made it.

Got both the YZSKI and the RM stripped down for engine rebuilds at present. YZSKI's getting a brand new OEM cylinder and ProX race piston (already got the piston and with luck the cylinder should arrive any day now).

The RM needs a little more work though. I've just finished installing a brand new OEM cylinder and race piston but have decided to tear it down again and replace the crank, conrod, main bearings and seals though because the top end of the conrod's fairly worn and I don't trust it with the extra power delivered by that new top end.

Took some vids of the RM being run in... what a difference! They're on my mate's phone right now, will post once he gets them on youtube.

Humyam, not sure what the resistance is actually for. Do you know?

No I don't know what a resistor plug does or does not do. All I was told is the non-resistor spark plug will adversely affect the CDI box up to the point of shutting off the engine at higher RPM's and that is what mine was doing.

i was told that the resistor in them is so that they dnt interfere with ariels on houses etc but that may be rubbish. nice bike man that thing looks sweet good work now get some haggis in ya!! lol

yeh i no i have tried it my friends are scottish nd they made it for us when we were round for tea wasnt knockin it mate!!
