Default 2005 Husky's

Oh boy, I'm thrilled to be the first person to post in this new forum!!! I saw those pics of the 05 4 stroke Husky's and I thought they looked really sharp. I checked Husky's site and all they had there was the 4 strokes. Does anyone know if they are still making 2 strokes? It would be kind of ironic, (or moronic?) if they quit making 2 stroke CR's when everyone thought Honda was going to quit making their 2 stroke CR's.

The only new Huskies I have seen have been the 4 stroke enduro bikes. Surely they are still suporting a SX team this year. Anyone else?

I don't know about Husky ,But I do know KTM is only gonna run 250f's this yr nothing in the 250 class at all...Kind of stupid if
You ask Me They better hope Allisi(sp) can run with Brock
Husky is probley like KTM and really trying to push the thumpers
That's O.K. with Me cause Roger D. said R.C. is faster on the
2 stroke than the 4 and He MIGHT run it in indoor and outdoor?
This years really gonna be GOOOD!!

Actually they haven't fielded a US team for a couple of years now.

Yeah, I don't think Husky is going to import 2-Strokes this year. Probably not from here on out. They are alive and well in Europe check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] .

I heard the reason behind no 2 strokes in 2005 is due to the AMA. they require that to make the production ruling a manufacturer must bring 500 of a given model into the states. Husky USA brought 500 CR125s into the states in 2004. Not a lot of them sold so there are a bunch of them sitting in PA. No use in bringing in 2005's if they have all the 2004's instock. Too much emphasis on the 4strikers these days.

You can great a screamin' deal on one right now. I think I'm gonna buy one, lower it a bit (raise forks, elongate sub-frame holes), put a spark arrestor, skid plate, add a little weight to the flywheel, cycra probend hand guards on it and let the wife/visitors ride it. I can raise it up and go Motocrossin' also. 197 LBS!!!

There is an "A" enduro guy up here in Michigan that has a Husky CR 250. He absolutly loves it!. Most the fourstrokes I have seen have had some issues. I do not know if it was the bikes fault or the riders. The guy is faster than hek and very hard on equipment. I would look at a CR 250 if they brought them over and had a fair price. ---Mike

Here's the post I did a week or so ago on thumper talk. Go to the thread to get more info on the Husky CR125's.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

"I picked up the crated CR125 at the freight terminal yesterday. Put it together and went riding. It fired up first kick. I had to re-jet for I am at a 4600' base camp. There was a big bog in the mid range power. I raised the needle one, dropped the main and the bike was a screemin"

It a nut shell I couldn't be more thrilled with the little two stroke. The power is awsome, the low end is fantastic.

I was concerned about how the low end was going to be but the bike is happy just chugging along at low RPMS. You can then just dial in a little more throttle and it lugs up great!! It really is very tractable. I'm not sure it needs more low end. The mid range power is even better. The top end is fantastic. This baby screems. Huskytone said his is faster than his '04 TE250 and I can beleive it. The little bike is a rocket ship. Big time.

The bike is so light it is unbeleivable. Big difference between it and the Husky four strokes.

The transmission is perfect. It shifts a lot smoother than my TE450 did and my TE510 does. It is definately a smoother shifting transmission. Clutch has effortless pull.

Stock gearing is also about perfect. I'm glad I got the CR. First is definately low enough, the gears are perfectly spaced to keep you in the torque curve and sixth is tall enough to go at least 65 MPH, maybe 70. Sixth is perfect for cruising at about 60 MPH down a county road.

Most of the parts apear to be interchangeable with my 510. Another plus!

The stock Pirelli MT32's are also awsome. I think I might have found a new tire. I really like the MT83's I've been running but these might be better.

The bike is really pretty quiet with it's stock silencer. I've got the USFS rated FMF for it and will try it on the next ride to see if it is even quieter and if it improves the power curve.

In typical Husky fashion the controls, suspension, bars, footpegs, etc. etc. are topnotch. No need to change any of that stuff. The fuel tank holds 2.5 gallons, most likely enough.

The bike is without a doubt the easieast starting bike I have ever owned. Just a little jab on the kick starter and it fires up. I think I could start it with my hand.

It took me 4 trys to get the jetting right so I was pulling the seat, the tank, the carb and putting it all back together on each try. Again, in typical Husky fashion, it is engineered for maintenance also. It could not have been easier to work on. Small engine, nothing in the way, stuff comes off easy, goes back on easy, etc. They even give you a rubber pull tab on the side of the air box boot to grab and pull on when you are putting the carb back on and negotiating it into place between the boots.

I'm thrilled. What a steal these bikes are now. They are over $2,000 less than a new Jap bike.

Two stroke verses Four stroke? Im lazy and like the engine braking of my TE510 but with a two strike you can really hammer the gears a lot faster that a four stroke. Two stroke is definately easier to work on and maintain. The CR125 can be started by anybody's little sister without the E-button.

Just for grins a guy really needs both.

Flame On"
