Aprilia Thumper

This is a discussion on Aprilia Thumper within the 4-Stroke Motorcycles - Exotic forum, part of the 4-Stroke Motorcycle Forums category; I read somewhere that it supposedly sounds alot quieter then all the other 450's. I'm guessing because it's a V-twin ...

I actually like it!

I think it looks pretty sweet! I`m not really fond of the rear swing they are using and I think the frame could be tweaked abit.

what cc is it?

Richie!

"what cc is it"

450 V-twin, for the 250 class, I think. I've seen a vid of it and it actually goes pretty well.

I just think it looks a bit too futuristic, I hope none of the Big 5 manufacturers look like that in years to come. If so, when i'm 40, I think I'll be riding the Vintage class.

That's a pretty trick looking bike. It will probably end up more like the TM bikes from Italy. Those are nice, but not for everyone. I don't actually think it looks that much different than the rest of what is out there. The variations between bikes is pretty slight these days compared to what it used to be...

I've ridden both, the sxv and rxv 450,550's. The 550 is quite impressive compared to the other street legal supermotos. We put this thing on a dyno, put out 70 horses on the rear wheel, of course after opening it up, getting rid of calif. emiss. ctrl crap. There's a line of mods u got to do before the bike comes to life. But in fact u gain great performance. Brakes, suspension, frame, ergonomy is perfect, the engine's got less low end, but crazy pull in the mid-top range. Pops on a wheelie in any gear.
They both come in supermoto and mx version. The price isn't that bad, due to the assembling failures certain dealers have decreased the prices, so go guys get one, for about 7G's. Check on ebay...

Seems like the engine should last a lot longer as a twin as well.
