flasher WHAT IS YOUR DIET/WORKOUT CONSIST OF?

i have recently started a fruit and vegtables only diet to loose some weight before i start racing. i eat alot of fruit cocktail, cottage cheese, and veggies like peas, green beens, and alot of corn. i havent started running or working out yet, but will when i loose a few jelly rolls. yea i got them LOL i am around 185-190 (dont laugh LOL ) right now and plan on getting down to about 170. i plan on running 2 miles every other day, muscle fitness between that. seems to help out alot on the track. when i was home from army for a weekend, i raced the 1 and only SX of the year, but i noticed i was not tired like normal. so i knew it will help out. 15 laps and wasnt even winded. so how do you stay fit for races?

30 Mintues of cardio Monday-Friday and a half an hour of weight training before the cardio part. I just started this routine about a month ago and I haven't been able to do it every day so the results are kind of slow going.

Diet...LOL...pizza, beer, steak, diet Mr Pipp, lots of water, and a lot of salads. The key is moderation, which I don't have for pizza or beer. You need to make a plan that you can stick with, a lifesystle change sorta. You can drop all the weight drinking water and greens, but you need to stick with it or you will be back where you started in a month or two. Dropping the weight is the easy part, maintaining is the hard part.

DPW is doing about the same thing as me.
Weight training is my main exercise, so I can whip that bike (quad for you) around instead of it whipping me around. I think it is more important to control the bike (quad for you), but on the other hand the heavier you are, the more the bike (quad for you) has to work to haul you. You also act like you weigh a lot. You don't and believe that when I say it.
Cardio is the BEST workout, period. Any kind of cardio exercise, and I mean anything.
If you work out with lighter weights, you will trim yourself more and lose some weight. It is also, IMO, a cardio exercise.
I am not saying workout with 5 lbs or anything, but I think you will know what I mean when you are tired within 10 min. Auxilary lifts are great, too.
Also, you lose more weight when you spread your meals out and eat more (if that makes sense) than if you eat tons on one or two meals a day.
Basketball will kill you if you play a full court game for a long period or even a short period of time.
howstuffworks.com has a section about losing weight, and they also have a measure thing that tells you how much calories you will burn in a specific amount of time doing a specific activity.
Apart from low calories and cardiovascular exercise, I can't help you much. I am still into the heavy weighted things. I do know that fish is one of the best things for your body though, so other than that I guess I am about done.

Dietary Regimen: Lots of pastas and heavily enriched deserts for energy.

Workout Regimen: Lots of channel surfing with alternating reps of exercising my body's sleep center.

Diet: Well since christmas I have started my diet and meats is really all I eat except for breakfast I have cereal and milk. But I normally either have Subway for lunch or a Bolonga sandwich or Ham sandwich with cheese. And for dinner I have meat and vetagebles. And I have cut soda out completely and have been drinking around 6-8 cups of water a day and have lost 20 pounds so far.

Training Regimen: Well since I now get out of school everyday at 10:30am I have been training non stop. Monday, Wednesday, Friday I ride a stationary bike about 4-5 times a day for 20min.-30min. a piece and then when my girlfriend gets home we go jogging for 60min. and keep a pace at about
11min.-12min. a mile, and then do 2 sets of 20 crunches and leg lifts, body squats for 3 sets of 20, and pushups 3 sets for 30 seconds a set non stop. And Tuesday, Thursday I do the same as far as cardio but I do weight lifting also and then take Saturday and Sunday off.

And i'm really not kidding either I work this hard, but i'm sure a lot of people could if they were home most of the day and yes I have a job, so my schedule is full.

I've got to rework my training. Right now I am having beer and bratwurst but that's good for you, right?

I may cut back to one bowl of ice cream tonight... we'll have to wait and see about that.

I just got back from running... I hate when the dog runs off to investigate the neighborhood! I had to rehydrate myself so I added another beer to my dinner.

Just lots of riding for me. I'm 44 and I can DEFINITELY notice the difference if I miss even one weekend! As far as diet? No doughnuts or ice cream ever. I eat a cookie here and there but not many. Pasta is good before a race for the energy. I hate working out but I am starting to think it might be necesasary if I'm going to keep racing.: I sure would hate to quit. A daily workout will come before I quit racing.

does getting up and going to the bathroom during commercial breaks count as exercise?

moderation is the key..I eat whatever I want, just not too much of it. stomach crunches and push ups for me..I used to do the treadmill, but haven't been very consistent with it lately.

Dude, I hit a tree one time and it split my number plate! My 661 Pressure Suit soaked up enough impact that I only had to lay on the ground for about 5 minutes to recover. Luckily, it wasn't a race. Trees are just wrong for an old beginner! MX on the other hand, leaves a little room for error. But then again, I like to ride the chick class.

I eat anything that's not too high in fat. I eat often, to keep my metabolic rate up.

I use the bowflex for exercise. I do 3 sets of 12 situps a day with 70 pounds on over my shoulders. Then I usually do some curls with typically 90 pounds. Then I might use the gazelle and do some cardio for 10 minutes or so.

Weigt training is good, but try and fit cardio in. It really helps you keep over all in better shape.

My diet is mostly wheat bread, ham, pickles, pepperjack cheese, mustard, salsa, corn tortilla chips, yogurt, chicken, and water, lots of water. I ate red meat for the first time today in 2 or 3 weeks and was getting nauseous just smelling it!

My workout is weight based cardio training for the upper body, 3 sets of 15 of 75% of my max of bench press, butterfly, incline press, and seated rows. I warm up by going on the exercise back at about half the max level for 15 minutes, then jump into the weight training. I only work out 4 days a week so I only do weights 2 of those days. The other 2 days I do pushups on the Bongo ball, if you don't know what this is it a pilates ball cut in half with a hard platform on one side. Set the squishy side down and start doing pushups while grabbing the outside rim. I can do 30 or more regular pushups in about 10 seconds, but I can barely squeeze out 10 of these in a minute. Then I do situps on the Pilates ball until I just can't do anymore. Then it's back to pushups, except this time I flip the hard platform of the ball on the ground and put one hand on the ball and one hand on the ground. 5 on each hand is a set. Back to situps, then to regular pushups on the ball, then more situps, and finish out with 5 of each hand down on the ground. Then it's onto the stairmaster, I climb about 50 flights of stairs in 10 minutes at half the machines max setting. Try doing the stairmaster and reading a magazine at the same time without using your hands to steady yourself! you will develop amazing balance!
