So in here post your worst wrecks...how many bones...x rays...ALL THE GOODS!

glen helen almost killed me literally, threw me off the whoops, knocked out for over 5 mins, rushed to the ER, broke my shoulder, concusion, yea......and lake elsinore messed my dad up. He hit the lip of a landing, threw him over, crushed his shoulder into over 15 places, detached his thumb, and the bike landed on his leg breaking his foot. He has a few surgerys, thumb re attachment and a new shoulder.

Ive also broken my hand and fingers

had over 50 xrays, 5 concusions, 9 broken bones, jacked knees.....yesh

I've got no major injuries from riding!!

I wouldn't ride fast enough to do any damage!

I've never broken a bone in my life anyway.

There used to be a step up triple at one of the tracks close to my house. I was coming at it and there was someone on the inside line in the turn before the triple so I went outside, which not many people were doing. I lost traction on the face and swapped a little, I cased the triple and my left hand came off the bars and I fell over. As soon as I hit the ground some kid that split between the guy on the inside line and myself landed directly on my head with his lower frame spars. It crushed my helmet, which then pushed into my face. I broke my left upper jaw free from my skull as well as breaking my left cheek bone and orbital socket free from my skull. According to people there, I was knocked out for 5+ minutes, then suddenly woke up, stood up and started walking to the truck. The medic ended up convincing me to let him give me a ride to the truck. For 45+ minutes I guess I BS'd with friends, asked what happened over and over again, yet I don't remember any of it. All I remember was suddenly gaining what I remember as consciousness in the middle of a conversation with some friends, and feeling like my head was going to explode so I blew my nose and nothing but blood came out. I quickly noticed that my left upper row of teeth were not sitting the way they had so I showed my friend and he confirmed that the entire upper left row from the middle back was tilted. He dropped me off at home and my dad gave him a ride back to pick up his van. The wife and I had plans to go out with my friend and his wife that evening and I didn't feel all that bad so we went out for dinner and a movie and then some clubbing. This was Saturday so on Sunday i just hung out, washed the bike and had a few beers. Monday I went to the doctor and found out that half my face was broken! Now I have 5 plates and who knows how many screws holding my face and jaw together. The wierd sensations seem to be going away finally, though, so that is good. I didn't know if I'd ever get normal feeling back.

I've had plenty of injury filled wrecks, but won't post those. Hate the memories

My oddist wreck is when I was around 12. I was motoring through a long straight (back section at Rio Bravo) and a piece of chain link fence was just on the track. I had rode over it several times that day, but this time was different. It must have kicked up and caught on the peg or skid-plate. All I can remember is the bike slowing down (amazing how vivid the feeling was), almost like going through deep sand.....and then it caught..the rest you can guess. Just wish I had it on film

One time at the track this kid borrowed my friends brand new, first ride that day, 07 KTM 250SXF. He exited the track right by the bleachers where he wasn't supposed to. The plastic netting crap they use for a fence was half hanging down so he figured he could get through the fence right there I guess. It caught and tossed him over the bars and the bike immediately sucked that plastic into the rear wheel. It was wrapped everywhere, melted all over the exhaust and brake rotor and the bike was all scratched up. He did all this in front of all the people in the stands and the guy he borrowed the bike from. Needless to say my friend was none too happy!

wow cannot top a broken face, but a good story anyway . a few years ago i had a honda xl 250 and on the way home one night going about 50 mph a deer came out of nowhere and all i could do is hang on i hit the deer in the rib cage and it felt like hitting a pillow i remember tensing up hanging on tight to the grips the deer was flung away from me and i looked down my handlebars were bent but i did not realize this and tried to correct when i did thats when i went down FRESH blacktop i slid on my back for an eternity i tried to put my hands down to slow myself and it was eating my gloves off i finally came to rest checked myself out my back was bleeding not sure how bad i was it was pitch black except for my bikes headlight and i could hear the deer moaning it did not die right away a sat there for maybe 30 min. and a friend came by with a pickup and took me home my dad took goop handcleaner and removed the tar from my lower back looked like a bear had clawed me my bike only about 100.00 damage after my bike and i had healed i would ride by the place that it happened and stop to kick the bones around a little bit i made it the deer did not guardian angel ?

1975 Kawasaki 750H2 triple, Hi-way nine between Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Ca. 20 yrs. old. Drifted wide while doing 60mph through a corner, Corvette coming towards me so I chose to go to the hill. Bike came to an aburpt stop whilst I carried on! Did a bute of a flip and landed on a concrete storm drain. Broke my pelvis in half, broke the top of the left femur off. Had it all pinned back together. And just 5 years ago had the left hip replaced with a new improved Titanium one, GOOD to GO!! Stay off the street if you wanna go fast!

Lol, I am sure you guys are expecting a novel from me.

I will just stick with the big one. I was riding on a open practice day at Red Bud in 2004, ride was going well and we were all having a lot of fun. They used to have this jump that was a double double right out of a corner, they would shave the first double down on practice days to try and stop people from doing the combo, as it was fairly technical, but not really all that big.

Anyway me and a couple others were rolling the first double and on the landing of the first one getting on the gas very hard and seat bouncing the second one (about a 60' gap uphill, not a real big deal) we did this successfully many times the whole day.

They had just watered the track and it was a bit slick, I came around on my first lap, rolled he first double and got on the gas, on the face of the second double I felt my rear end loose traction, I KNEW I was coming up short, so I got forward on the bike and pinned it. Let me say this, I have come up short on a lot larger jumps in my life then this one, and I have NEVER EVER experienced the forces that happened to me when I came up short, I think it had to do with it being an uphill jump that threw you very high in the air coupled with the fact that I was so short that I landed right on the vertical 12’ high wall that was the face of the landing ramp.

When I hit, my legs collapsed underneath me forcing my butt onto the seat hard enough to pretzel my subframe and smash my airbox. I immediately lost all feeling in the lower half of my body, I got ejected from the bike and somewhere in that process I dislocated my shoulder to the point of my right arm being physically lodged behind my head, in other words my arm was on my back….painfull. When I lay there on the ground and couldn’t move, I lost control for a few seconds, I can’t explain what its like to lay there and know you may never walk again, its not a good feeling.

I crushed 2 vertebrae in my spine in the L area, via a compression fracture, they went in and I now have 6 vertebrae fused in my back, and one vertebra is ¾ gone, along with another that is damaged severely. I will spare you the details of recovery and just say that I wouldn’t wish what I went thru on anyone, not even my worst enemy. Long term so far hasn’t been too bad, I live with pain everyday, but I don’t complain about it at all, I consider myself one of the luckiest people on the planet to be walking again and have a somewhat normal way of life, there are things that I still have issues with today, but like I said, I consider myself lucky to not be in a wheelchair, which I was told if I would have had my accident as little as 5 years prior, there would have been no hope for recovery.

This sport is so dangerous. I can't believe we actually do this for entertainment.

The sport of MX and Hare Scrambles is not what is killing me. Only a broken rib twice to show for 34 years of racing. It is being me and breathing that is getting me in trouble. Twelve surgeries (three on the spine and 10 on my abdomen since 2000,) I'll take a good crash over this crap any day.

Get this. Not only did I wait to go to the doctor, but the surgeon put me off for three weeks before my surgery AND he wouldn't give me anything but 800mg Ibuprofen. Even after my surgery he wouldn't give me anything but Ibuprofen.

Here's a funny story about the surgery. First they had an intern do my IV and she stuck me 5 times, wriggling the needle around each time trying to get it in the vein! Finally the nurse took over after seeing the growing anger in my face.

In the recovery room I woke up and realized I couldn't see because they put that jelly crap in my eyes. I started yelling to get the crap outta my eyes, so they did. They asked me if I was in any pain, I said of course, they asked if I wanted some morphine, I said Hell No! There was some guy in the bed next to me yelling and screaming about his "Little Dingy" non stop, so I started yelling back at him to shut up! The nurse told me to leave him alone and I told her that he was making my stay very unpleasant! I asked when I could leave and they said my blood pressure was too high, so I told her that it wouldn't be if she'd get that guy to shut his trap! I then got out of bed and pulled my gown off and stood there buck naked and calmly asked for my clothes. The nurse was too embarrassed to say no so she brought me my clothes, I made her pull my IV out and told her I was leaving. She went to get a wheel chair and by the time she got back I was already half way down the hall. She came running, yelling at me to get in the chair. I let her push me from the door to the curb, a total of 5 feet.

After that the wife and I went directly to the pub where I ate a hamburger and drank a few pints. The waitress asked what happened to my face so I told her that I had just left the hospital after having facial recontruction, so she gave me a free beer!
