Unhappy for the injured, please read this...

while i'm writing this with amber, zak, and david in mind after the injuries suffered this weekend ... this applies to everyone that has suffered a physical injury lately that was bad enough to require any kind of physical rehab:

please, please, please do the rehab routines as prescribed! you only get one chance to rehab a bad injury. if you don't do it right the first time, you don't get a second chance unless you happen to suffer the same injury again. i've been through it (as have numerous others here) and i know how much time it takes out of your life and how much it hurts sometimes, but it's part of the price you pay to play. go to rehab as prescribed and do the exercises that they ask you to do. it will be a pain in the arse (as well as the immediate place that has suffered injury) but it will be a huge payoff in the end. it's not worth walking with a limp the rest of your life or having a limited range of motion with your arms and/or legs when all that you need is to do a few exercises a day.

i'll hop off of my soapbox now. if you question me even the slightest bit, please don't hesitate to start your own post and ask questions ... i'm sure that you'll get plenty of feedback.

heal quickly and, most importantly, heal well.

zack

I'll be the first to admit that I learned that lesson the hard way. I broke my collar bone years ago and didn't stretch like the doctor told me to and wound up with scar tissue in my shoulder blade muscle. It still hurts when I strain it and it's been 10 years since the accident. Like Zack said, listen to the doctors and PT... PLEASE.

The best rehab for that thing would be for it to turn into a thumper.

char ... i can almost rock .. sometimes.

keeto ... i had people that i know and work with every day scare me into doing the rehab, which is why i wanted to post this. there are a few guys that i work with that had the same acl reconstruction that i did and they still can't walk down the stairs without turning sideways and taking them one at a time. after talking to them and finding out their experiences and, in effect, the results of being lazy during rehab, i did what i needed to do and i can take stairs 3 or 4 at a time like i used to. my knee feels as close to 100% as i could imagine and i owe a lot of it to the bad example that was set by a few guys that i work with. i decided to take the long, hard road and it paid off.

satch ... honestly, bro, i think the prognosis is decent. i'm sure i have a busted 'starter' gear for sure, and possibly she's in need of a new top end ... and then she'll be ready to go. oh! and some new front wheel bearings too. man, i feel so bad ... she's in bad shape right now (including the rear flat) but i think most of the wounds are superficial and the rehab will be short! i'll let you know, brotha!

clay ... while you may be right, i'm preparing myself for a new addition to the family (a little girl! ). let's see ... a thumper, or diapers ... a thumper, or diapers ... oh! i know, when she stinks we can send her off to uncle clay out in florida! and when your 250f starts getting bored out there, feel free to ship her over to uncle zack in texas!

seriously, though, man ... i wish you had made it this weekend. next time!

Brent I would hate to make you wreck again trying to keep up. We know you do not have the corner speed to keep up, we proved that at the last outing. I wanted to be there, by next yr I will be back home and working in a shop.

Zach, the 250F may be for sell soon enough, looking into more power(450) or new 250 not shure yet what I want to do.
