Unhappy help on shoulder problems???

how would i know if my shoulder was blown out or knocked out or whatever? i have a pinched nerve in my right shoulder blade region and it bothers me some but not alot. what hurts is when i am sitting trying to read a paper or book with my arms up a little and it feels like there is a knife sticking me in the back where the shoulder blade is. not all the time or when i race but after and at home it kills me. should i say heck with it and go to a doctor( I HATE GOING THERE, FEAR OF SURGERY) and have it looked at? BTW, i start work in a factory in a week with some heavy lifting so i dont want to ruin my job chances. not till i get my time in anyway so i wont be fired. help!!!

I would get it checked out just because, however it doesn't sound too serious. I think usually when you have shoulder problems it tends to be right in the shoulder socket, but I'm not doctor and I would let the Dr. check it out.

Trust me if it was out of socket you would know about it....hurts like hell man. When I did mine it was deemed a "Severe dislocation" as the bone that comes into the shoulder socket from your arm was behind my head. Not fun.

As for your issue, there is really no way to tell what is wrong exactly with out a x-ray and/or MRI/CAT scans.

Go see your Dr.

I'd avoid going to the Doctor like it was the plague. But, that's me.
