OK, last week my daughter convinced me to join the gym. I got a 3 month membership. This way I will have a trainer get me in the right direction. Not to mention the great view!!

Sounds good Vet, wish we had a gym around here that was close, guess I will have to stick with my track and a mountain bike when the weather warms up.

It 20 miles from me, I'll have to go after work everyday.
Besides that, in 3 months I'll be able to go ride everyday after work. Wont need the gym then.

The club we belong to is 15 miles away, but well worth the drive to ride. Only 50 members allowed. We where lucky to get in.

Very cool Vet. I'd get one too, if I didn't already have all the weights in my basement. Just need to get a recumbent bike now & a treadmill (for the wife).

But oh yeah, riding is the preferred method for sure.

BTW, just finished my first week.

I think as of now, the most I have benefited from is the cardio. I am able to go longer without getting as tired. But it could be a combination of things also.

Ok , If anyone is interested.
I have lost 15 lbs and am up to running/walking 2 miles almost everyday. I do some upper body workout and leg workouts alternating them. I feel alot better and dont seem to get as tired riding as I did last year. I will find out because I hope to ride a Hare Scrambles this Sunday. Peace

I'm really doing some workouts since december last year and I surely can feel the difference when I'm riding. Normally to the end of the race I'm sitting down because standing up is just too much!! Now I can stand up the entire race!! I assure you that are a few places up to the front!!!

John Jon...that's awesome! I'm curious...did you race on Sunday? You had to have noticed a difference if you did.

Well , I dont seem to get as tired. By losing wieght I put myself in a position NOT to have to buy differant springs for my bike
I feel better and I believe in the long run I will benefit from all this extra excersize.
I did not race the Hare Scrambles Sunday, I ended up working very late Saturday night and didnt get home till 430am. Didnt think it was a good idea to race with that little sleep.

Well I guess my first post should be something I know a little about, so here goes.
Monday: Chest and Bicepts
Tuesday: Cardio 35-50 min.
Wed: Legs and Shoulders
Thurs: Cardio
Friday: Back and Tri's
Incorporate your favorite exercises to that you get 3-4 sets with 10-15 reps each set.
This will work a Pull and push muscle on the same day and allow each muscle to recover before it is worked again.
Hope this helps get in the right direction.
Any questions about exercises let me know.
RB

This is basically what I do except I do the tread mill most everyday. I generally start with 20 minutes of walk/run approx 2 miles. Then do the rest after.
