Saw this on TWMX.
Great info here on one of our most frequent injuries. Surgical treatment has "exchanged a bump for a scar" with my son but this is a pretty good read. Especially considering that many of us will be dealing with this very injury!
I really like the aggressive treatment that gets us back on the bike sooner.

The biology of the clavicle is different from all of the other long bones and enables it to heal more rapidly and reliably. We assist in this healing of less severe fractures by putting the athlete in a sling for the first five to seven days. They can then begin moving their shoulder - working towards trying to lift it over their head and improve range of motion. The disturbing clicking sounds, some very pronounced, generally persist for about a month. They are normal and will not affect the exercises or recovery.

Interesting to say the least! I in now way wanted to think about moving mine in a week when I broke it 15 years ago! I rolled over in bed after week one while sleeping and it re-broke - not a good experience!!
