Default Conditioning

Ok now everyone does it before a race but what are some good methods?

Typically I will go water only cold turkey three days before a race but what about other things like pasta, energy drinks, bread ect. I know drinking water several days before a two hour xc race means the world so if I can improve more it would be awsome.

my secret to perfect conditioning is to consume a couple of cases of beer every week, and 3 if its a special ocassion, seems to do wonders for my figure, LOL, hydration is the biggest thing, u should be drinking heaps of water all the time, not just 3 days before, i dont go much on the energy drinks on race day, thats just my 2 cents, im no guru on the subject but u cant beat drinking water in my books,

Back when I actually raced () I would eat lightly and drink half water and half gatorade all morning. I'd eat a peanut butter sandwich and some wheat crackers about an hour before the race and I was good to go. Like was said before, hydration is the most important but don't overeat or it can make you sick. That being said, be sure to eat enough of the right food to sustain your energy.

Well i am a heavy machine mechanic as the 9-5, and i think that has a lot to do with me being able to push the limit in hot weather along with making arm pump minor, if at all. Normal riding i drink water via the camel pack as needed, not to force water in, to much water is just as bad as to little, you run a risk of over hydration and loosing the electrolites in the system. Durring Gncc, harescrambles, and any other type of cross country races that i do, i fill the camel pack up with gatorade and 1 can of red bull (the small can) the taste is something to get used to, but there is more dust in the mouth from the ride and eating roost to make the mix refreshing.

This past weekend we had a paintball tourney in 90 degree weather so hydration was super important. Ill have to ask coach what the drink was called but it was like gatorade with some kind of patented carbs in it. We drank that all day and didnt eat and we went undefeated while other teams were eating cheeseburgers at lunch time and ended up falling apart. It was 10 hours of running games running back to staging, getting air paint, and then running back to the field. That stuff was awesome though thats what I called it, Awesome Drink haha.
