Most acute tears well managed will heal. Those that were poorly managed, are likely to heal in a lengthened position and will require surgery which is quite sucessful.

With rare exceptions the folks I have operated on had been neglected initially and required reconstructions. Reconstructions, although sucessful, are best avoided.

Its easy if you have digital Xrays. If not you can overnight me a copy of the ordinary films
