Default Bowflex machines

Well my physical theropy is over as far as the doc.s are concerned, but I am still not happy with my strength in my left leg and other places so I have been contiplating (more like waiting to hear some opinions from you guys before ordering) getting a Bowflex. I have heard nothing but good things about them, even from my theropist.

Lets hear it guys.

what about those new wieder ones. The crossbow. They are essentially the same thing and they have a computer that customized a workout and keeps tracks of reps. Also you can change weight at click of button instead of changing those rods

They are pricey! I opted for joining a gym instead. They make them right down the road from me, and I've also heard nothing but good about them. (though there was a recall awhile back, but if you are buying a new one, you should be ok.)

The bowflex is awesome. They have one at the school here...too bad the school isn't open in the summer . I like how easy it is to switch between exercises. Not that I use it much, mind you.

Well I have thought about one of those also, but the gym has trainers and I have tried at home stuff and I just dont get pushed as I do at the gym. But I hear they are great.

Wow you guys really like Bowflex? I always thought it was kinda cheesy, but then I've never tried it so I guess my opinion is kind of uninformed. I prefer free weights myself, but I can see where the Bowflex system might be good if you are recovering from injuries.

I would still rather have a gym membership, than any piece of equipment at home. Some gyms have those pneumatic machines, which are especially good when you are recovering from injuries. Maybe you could see if any of your local gyms have those.

LOL Roostman oh yeah. I'm used to here in SoCal where you have 50 million gyms to choose from within a 5 mile radius

I dunno about Indiana. I visited some relatives in Bloomington Indiana last year and dang... I don't know if they even have one gym there. Maybe the YMCA?

Yeah, gyms are few and far between around this area, closest one is like 25 min from me and a membership for a year is close to half the cost of a bowflex, figure in gas and time, and the bowflex seams pretty reasonable really.

As for self motivation, I really don't have any issues with that...if I want to be able to stand on my tiptoes or jump ever again...I will do it.
