I know this sounds weird, but i'll pass along anyway. If the bowflex or other stuff doesn't help things, there is a process called Photon Therapy that is really amazing. It's been used for years to heal race horses for torn ligaments, bones and other difficult injuries. and is in the process of FDA approval

chiropractors and sports therapists will soon be offering this technolgy.... all they do is take a hand held infrared thing and direct it to the injured area. like an xray

told you it would sound weird.....but I know people who could barely climb a flight of stairs and made a full recovery from injuries

Don't worry, it won't make you start eating hay or anything

Eating hay....LOL.

Actually I have went from not even being able to walk at all on my own to damn near being able to run in about 2 months. The bowflex is to complete the restoration so to speek.

I have heard of that proceedure you mentioned at physical theropy the other week, there was a guy in there trying to sell it to them. Sounds like a pretty cool idea really.

I think if you live someplace where getting to a gym is reasonable, that's fine...however, not everyone has that luxury. Sometimes you just make do with what you got or can get.

Just ordered it.

Should be here within 3 weeks according to Bowflex.

As for home gyms being a lie....the only way they could possibly be a lie is if you don't use them. If you use them they will work just like the ones in your gym.

I used to have a nautilus type home gym. It used to lie to me ALL the time. It would whisper "you don't need to work out, you look great already!" So I got rid of it, got my garage back and now it lies to someone else! I'm with Char. Make due with what you can. They only work if you use them! I have plenty of friends who have gym memberships they pay for every month, yet haven't used in years. I think the sales people at those gyms lie too. They lead you to believe you'll actually work out if you join! Just kidding. I have a gym membership and I go three times a week.

So Jim...

Did you get the bowflex in yet? If so...what do you think of it? And which one did you order?

Yep I got it while I was on vaction, just put it together the other day in fact.

The machine is incredible actually, so smooth and perfect it's almost scary. I am starting the 20min workout tonight and will be doing it every Mon. Wed. and friday for the forseeable future.

I will give a full report after tonight.

Well after my first workout I have to say that I am pretty impressed. The ease at wich you can switch between workouts and the speed is very cool.

Perhaps the neatest thing is that I really don't hurt that bad today after working out, that is one of the things in the manual that it tells you about, the resistance is so perfect that you rarely get sore unless you push too far. This is not to say that you don't know you are working out, it's just way different.

The model I got was the Extreme2, this one allows you to do like 80 exercises without having to change pullies or anything, that was my reasoning for going with that model over some of the others, it's also their most popular model according to the sales people I talked with.

I am going to go for the full three sets on wednesday, I started with 2 and I feel as though I can bump it up without a problem.

I will keep all who are interested updated.

How much space does it take up?

Sorry for all the questions...it's just a lot of money to spend...which I don't mind, as long as it gets used. And I think it will.

I like the idea of not having to switch pullies. Ahhh...decisions.
