Default Ankle Recovery Slow

Well a lot of you know my son broke his ankle about 9 weeks ago. He had 2 screws installed and has been walking on it now for 2 weeks. But it is still very stiff and he doesn't want to ride as he feels it won't take a hit. He doesn't see the phyisio for another 2 weeks again, and our race season starts in 3 weeks. Which probably means he won't be ready to go for quite a while. He is doing pool work for some training and some gym but no quality bike time. i know a few of you have had similar injuries did you find anyone thing helped better in the recovery time. cheers Pete

Pete, all I can say is... must be nice to be young! I'm going on 7 months now and I'm just feeling comfortable enough to ride. Physical Therapy helped me out with flexibility and strength more than anything. I still am nowhere near 100% but I can now hop on it without pain. I still hurt when it gets put into a bind or a suddend jerk occurs so no hard riding for a while. Best of luck to him! He has youth on his side.

Keith

It took me about 5 month before I felt ready to ride, it's been almost 11 months and I still don't try the big jumps.

I just bought my wife an Indo board today and it states it's good rehab for ankle and knee injuries!!!

It's pretty hard though
