| I decided to change the pace in this forum a little bit and post a couple of pictures from my sledding season taken back in January as my way of oficially declaring my snowmobile season done for the year. These photos were both taken just below the top of Sweetgrass Butte in the Methow Valley, WA (where Amanda and I just bought our house). At the bottom of the hill is a trail that goes through the trees and ties in to the road below (this is a shortcut trail of sorts). I went down to see if the trail had been punched through to the road, and since it had I needed to go back up and tell Amanda and her Grandpa that we were good to go. This was my first real climb on this sled, and it was a blast! When I got to the top and shut my sled off, I was so stoked I couldn't wipe the smile off my face ![]() View 1- just past the really steep part of the hill ![]() View 2- nearing the top, I had to sidehill a bit to avoid running the photographer over ![]() Remember what I said about trying not to smile? I wasn't being very successful here ![]() Just a nice photo of my sled I'm sure a few of you have pics of your snow adventures as well... feel free to throw them up here! Now it's time to get serious about putting some time on the 450 Last edited by cowboyona426; 04-11-2006 at 12:18 AM. |

| Here's a dumb question from a southern guy. How do the sleds deal with the elevation changes during your ride. Jetting and such. Is it as simple as a fuel screw? Just curious. |

| Dude! I'm just glad you didn't put your face in that photochopped pick. That would have skeered me! |

jedi- most guys tune to be a little rich at low elevation so that it is closer to spot-on once you get up a little bit. Most newer sleds have a system that can adjust for the altitude differences, and there are also aftermarket kits that address this same problem. My sled is stock (motor wise) and has an ACCS (Altitude Carburetor Compensation System) and I've rode from 2,000 up to 8,000 feet and never had to change a jet or adjust anything. |
