Its header wrap. It keeps the heat moving so it adds more power.

I have never heard of, nor seen this before.
Is this common?
Does it actually work??

How come all 4-strokes don't come with this?:

it supposedly does help. Although I see it more often done on radiator hoses to keep the pipe from heating the fluid more then it already is. KDub does it on his bike (the hoses I mean).

I think the general reason why you don't see it more often is it doesn't look as good as the pipe, so why cover it up

It actually gives you alot of low end. What it does is keeps all the hot air in. This way hot air is less dense than cold air andflows faster. With it flowing faster it reduces back pressure and gives better throttle response. Its just like ceramic coated pipes. Does the same exact thing.

Would that header wrap work on any 4 stroke, such as a car? Would you notice anything? Do you notice anything on the CRF?

If you have ever heard of cerma-chrome/powder coating a head pipe it is almost the same thing. I choose to have my head pipe cerma-chromed instead of wrapping it. If you still think it's weird look here...

I know it looks photoshoped there but its really not. I have some pics of me doin jumps and a stoppie. And yes actually the header wrap is made for cars, They use them on dragsters. I noticed a a difference in it. It had better low end and some mid when i ut it one.

the header wrap is very popular with streetbikes but in motocross it just gets filled with dirt so their is really no point

Probly like 1-3 on a car thats stock. Now on a fully modded street car than you can probly get 3-5 out of it. If you got to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (or something like that.) they sell it and show some pics of it on the cars. Just go to google and type in HeaderWrap and see how they have it wraped to show how it works.
