Default Is the Panasonic PV-GS150 pretty good?

I was looking at it, like the fact that it has 3CCD. My wife wants something "small". Also I have seen some kits on ebay with a .5 wide angle an 2X telephoto lens. Would these be useful? I have an SLR and I know that the teleconverters make the picture not as good, is that the same as this 2X telephoto.

I have a panasonic and I can tell you it's very good for the money I paid.

I have the 2x teleconverter and have used it once or twice, and I couldn't tell any quality difference at all. The trained eye might, but come on these are "Home" video's. You won't notice the difference either.

Oh, and I think Aus_Rider_22 has a MiniDV similar to yours, so maybe he'll see this and pipe in.

Yep, we have one of these.

The main attraction to this model was the 3CCD like television cameras. I believe it's also the world's smallest 3CCD recorder. Well, it was when we bought it! LOL
The video quality is pretty impressive. I can upload a small clip that I made from some footage if you would like..

The pics are fine IMO. Just don't expect the action shots to be that great...
Here are a couple that I have that were taken with the recorder in question.

Medium distance.. NOTE: The red tinge can be eliminated by adjusting the colour balance. I didn't realise how evident it was until I had the photo on the puter...

Up close to show details and quality...

IMO this is pretty decent little videa recorder. Obviously its main strength is it's video capabilities, but for still photos, this camera does pretty well. Action shots do get blurry and won't replicate any dearer camera's photo-taking capabilities...

Thanks, I would love to see a clip from it. You got any clips in low light?

Woody what camera do you have?

Nothing special, just a panasonic MiniDV, I don't recall the specs, but I like it and it does pretty well (way better then sony) in low light situations.

No, mine's not a 3CCD version (I've had it for 2 years)
