Well, I can't even express how glad I was to see that somebody FINALLY made it! It would really suck to try somehting that couldn't be done.
I reckon all those guys in the white shirts and the hardhats are the equilevent of rodeo clowns. Damage control.
Nice post!

You know it would take guts to try and ride up the hill...no doubt but I think it would take more to be a catcher....that's just nuts.

Not to mention getting knocked off the ropes with a 250lb bike that has a spinning metal paddle tire on the back.....

I'm not sure who's more crazy, the catchers or the riders. All I know is I'm sure a LOT of alcohol is consumed at a hill climb... by all parties involved.

That's a wild vid.

What kind of drug to you have to sell to be able to afford that?

Those guys must really enjoy spending money, and rebuilding bikes.

A bit off topic here ......I was never a big fan of Jeremy McGrath, for some reason, but after he retired I was flipping through the channels and saw a hill climbing event that he had entered on a whim. The various classes had been dominated by 2-3 brothers over the past several years. Anyways, Jeremy entered the stock motor/wheelbase class and ended up winning it. I believe he was the only guy in that class to make it to the top. That same year he also won the step-up event in the X games and was doing pretty well in Super Moto. That boy can flat-out ride a motorcycle, and because of that I became a fan.

Those guys are nuts!

Here's another, Robie Peterson on a 1000cc Honda. He has 2 CR500 engines in his bike.

Always a big fan of going fast up tall steep hills. Nothing more exciting.
