Default V8 Quad????

OK this is maybe a little overkill....

My friend said I could use his 358 out of his modified with 4 races on it, and I have a warrior frame, which all that I'll use is a-arms + steering.
If I take a steel bell housing and a mini clutch, then machine a adapter to a yamaha drive shaft for a rear diff off a grizzly 660. I can have it good for one speed...But I want a Tranny but to make it look half like a atv there isnt any room for one. I could do a belt type torq-convertor like on utv's but would a small belt like that hold up to 500 HP???
What safety should I think about
I want to do this without ruining a $15000 motor, right know I'm using a old 305 block to start on the main frame I'm still lost on how the exhaust is going to work without burning my legs off.

I will post some pics. when it starts going together.

Cool project, cant wait to see pics. Do a search on here, seems as if there was some guy a while back building such killer machines. He'd be a good source for info.

Go with block hugger headers and then ceramic coat them and header wrap them, that should keep the legs much cooler.

I think I know who you are talking about. I think his screen name was OM (old man)??

If so, he was stuffing streetbike motors into Raptor frames, and doing quite a nice job!

Not sure if he ever did the V-8, or car motor thing, but he could possibly be of help on that too.

Default v8 Quad?

Hey! Try OLD MAN. He posted [my new ride] under ATV/UTV General Discussion.
He's built some incredible quads. He even has a link on his post to see them!
Try a golf cart? Take a look at you tube under golf carts. All uv them are street bike engines. That v8 woud be awsome. Send pics when you start!

I have started it and abandon it for a r6 yfz and I'm finding alot about these things I hope to get the motor in next week and i just bought a frame off ebay to hack up I was going to buy a raptor to better accommodate the motor but they are to pricey to be doing what i am, so i got a 450 frame and i will take my 08 450 stuff and use it on the cut up frame and if i get tired of the heavy beast i can sell the r6 engine and put my 450 back together and still have a blast.
