Well unless your yz 125 is made of solid gold and the handlebars are ivory your dreaming to get 4000 for it. As far as cheaply made chinese pep boys quads I wouldnt go further than laughing at the cheap quality of them while picking up car parts. Search around for maybe last years model 450 race quads from the big 4. You should definatly be able to pick up a very nice used one for less than 5000 and then use the left over money for suspension, engine work, nerfs, pipes, all the other goodies that you really need to make a stock quad competetive in the ATV MX world.

Keep the 125 and save up until you can afford something from Japan. Maybe a Outlaw but nothing less. I have seen the exhaust literally fall off while on the track and axles just snap over a bump on stuff like that. You have a quality machine now I would keep it that way>

I looked at the 400 at Bass pro shop and they are not quite up to snuff maybe they will be in a few more years of R&D but not yet. Save your money and be patient things will come your way.

Funny I am looking at selling my 400 ex it only has 12-15 hrs just don't ride it as much as my bikes and the new 300 xcw is calling me.

If you want a good race quad, and it sounds like your not to familar with them, I would look into getting a little smaller machine to start on. Maybe a LTZ/KFX 400, or a TRX400ex. The TRX is not liquid cooled but is very reliable. I have had 2 and loved them. With a little work they can run with your stock or mild moded 450's. Mine does. Once you get to your faster riders you will have a hard time, but for trails, begginer to intermidiate rider, it will be perfect for ya. And yea, the DVX is similar to the LTZ models. If I am not mistaken, Suzuki did buy a portion of Articat. But they are not seen around as much as your more popular 4 brands. Just saying you should weigh your options first is all. Check out E-bay for your area...

the dvx400/kfx400/ltz400 are all the same machines...just dif color plastics and the name on them. Until recently 06 I think did the manufacturers agreement end on that deal...so the artic cat your neighbor has is a solid all around quad.

You could easily get a trx or yfz 450 used for $3500...don't buy the cheap crap...not worth it

I looked at them just 2 weeks ago and the motor did look like a LT but the suspension/ergos and various other things didn't.
It looks like the 04-06 was the same as the manuals are the same.

Man, the CAD $ is losing ground again........ just last week it was like 1 CAD = 1.035 US.

There goes my small moment of glory.
