 YZ250f crank Just wondering, is there anything you can do to fix the crank issue on a 2001-2002 Yz250f? Perhaps a hot rods kit? If it can be fixed, i might consider one, because i can aford one by the end of the summer. Ive been asking around, but havent really gotten a response yet. Anyone know?  |

| Re: YZ250f crank There has been more than one type of failure reported in regards to the Yamaha 250F crank. Both the crank pin and the rod itself have failed. Yamaha's fix was to beef up the crank assembly for '03 and later models. Seems that Yamaha has also come to terms with most of the low hour crank failures that have surfaced. IMHO, if you want to be 110% sure of the bike I would plan on spending the extra dough on a new '03 style crank assembly and install it before you rode the bike. This is just what I would do... |

| Re: YZ250f crank I dont think there were any problems with the 02's, and very few with the 01's. Supposedly just one batch that was made was faulty. |
