Default Best riding ever

Yesterday Zoo, the kids, a co worker, and my cousin went out to McCain Valley and rode the trails there. Although I am sad to say that Zoo wasn't able to ride his new CRF450, I was able to ride my bike quite a bit.

I really think that the turning problems that I was having last time were related to a twisted front end and also bent handlebars. Now that we straightened out the front end and replaced the bars, riding is easy! My bike is still a beast (especially picking it up after it is down) but I am riding it a lot better now. I followed a few of your tips on turning and things were fine.

My cousin has a death wish (and she has been riding for a loooong time) and took me out on the trails. I only have riden on the main road and in the campsite area so far so the trails were kind of scary at first. She took me on paths where there were some really tight turns and also rocks that we had to go up and down on. Now that I have gotten out there I have to say that it isn't as freaky anymore. This was the best trip I have ever been on. I did come back with bruised up legs and a jammed shoulder but it was all worth it!

Can't wait to go rding again!

What was your best riding adventure?

That's great, Imahoot! I've never been to McCain Valley, or Lake Morena, but I plan on going on a trip out there soon. Hey, we'll have to hook up sometime!

Sounds good. We have some great places to ride out here. McCain Valley is our usual camping/riding spot when we have only a day or one night to ride. There are plenty of dunes with Glamis and Ocotillo only being a few hours away. Let me know when you come in town.

Yardpro- you are right....a good day of riding makes the frustrating days of learning worth it.

Yeah, despite the CRF problems, it was a great ride. My friend and I went on a long ride with Ima's cousin right before we left. We ended up getting lost out on the trails, accidentally rode through someone's property, had to ask directions, and had to eventually follow the highway back to camp. What was supposed to be a quick 30 minute ride turned into a 2 hour adventure.

That is what is fun about trail riding...going out and exploring

Sounds like you guys had an excellent time for sure... Too bad Zoo didn't get the CRF running.

However, if you guys have another CRF no start weekend... I'll trade you my '03 for your '04, because I know mine starts...

Zoo & Ima,

Where at McCain Valley do you ride. I go to Lark Canyon quite a bit, but I didn't know there was anywhere to ride at McCain.

Sounds just like my time riding in the NOW CLOSED TO BIKES groton woods. It was fun, i went with te Definas. Joe (my age) had an xr 100 and his dad had an xr 400 (nice bike) and we got lost, got muddy, then sandy, then up a steep hill all sand. :
it was great, but groton wooods, the land dedicated to the people of grot for whatever they wanted (it accually says that on the memorial) is now restricted and bikes even 4 strokes can no longer ride it road sized trails spanning over 90 acres.
