i checked out the spring rate calculator and i think i will be able to lose enough weight to keep the standard springs, i have got the motivation to get rid of my beer gut now. any ideas on rebound and compression settings for front and rear. cheers Si

take yur compression all the way to stiff on both the fork and the shock. most likely that will be to stiff. since im thinkin yur still a begginer/novice(i might be wrong) go back in clicks of 3 since you probley wont fell 1 or 2. go all the way back until it feels just about right, then go 2 forward. the rebound is personal preference and depends on what track yur riding. make sure that yur fork and shock are equal on rebound or you will be nose diving or doing a kiss of death when jumping.

I would just set the sag and adjust from there. What's not good with the suspension the way it is now?

Moving this one to the suspension forum. I think you will get better responses there.

the main problem is when hitting a small set of whoops which are only 1 foot high in third gear it tends to want to throw me off instead of absorb most of them. i have checked the rebound and it seems ok and the sag is about 100mm. it could just be me coming from a wr400 and the suspension generally being softer. cheers Si

yeah that's what i try to do but its kind of difficult when your getting thrown about. on my old 400 it was easy cos it used to soak most of it up.

i think i have been a bit of a dumb *** hear the bike is new, only a week old so i guess that i should let the suspension bed in for a while. what is the best way to break in suspension and how long should it take. cheers Si

Ride it. The 125 has great suspension stock. Especially if its an 05. Also a 2-stroke in the whoops doesnt feel as planted as a 4-stroke but once you get used to it, the whoops are alot easier on a 2-stroke than a 4-stroke. You will sort of feel like the bike is all over the place. Just squeeze the bike with your legs and try to make sure your on the balls of your feet and you can feel your butt literally touching the rear fender. I'm not kidding make sure you feel your *** sliding on the plastic. Unless the whoops are very small 3rd gear is decent speed for the whoops. As for suspension, try stiffening your compression. That way you wont use as much of the stroke. Don't touch the rebound. Stock the rebound is probably fine for you. Slowing it down may cause you to drop more.
