Default Suspension for a kx250f

I have a kx250f '07. I have never messed with the stock suspension on my bike. I have been riding it for 10 mo. and I am really comfortable on my bike. However, now I am wanting to tweak things to make my bike better for me. I think messing with the suspension would help the way my bike responds to corners and landings. This is my first bike but I am pretty sure things need to be tweaked maybe a little softer set up. I come pretty close to the weight requirements being 130lbs 5'6 girl. Any advice on improving a stock suspension?

You'r probably a touch to light for the stock springs, the right spring rates will make a differance. Did you try and set the sag properly?

You should really get the sag set. From there you can start to make adjustments with the clickers.

I was looking for a link that describes the process... I'll keep looking and post it up.

Well, it's from ThumperTalk, but maybe this'll help:

I have to agree with pjg, I think you are a bit light for the springs.

Do as Char recommends and get the sag set (even if she can't search ), and then go from there. I'm sure your static sag will be more than 25mm by a bit. Which means you need lighter springs.

Once you get that set (it helps with turning a TON), we can work on the clickers and some edumacation about what they all do. You'll also need to decide what you don't like about the current setup.

Here is what I found from mx-tech.com
Quote:
Stock Spring Rates:
Fork: 0.45 kg/mm
Shock: 5.3 kg/mm

Recommended Spring Rates:
Fork: 0.39 kg/mm
Shock: 4.7 kg/mm
So they think you need lighter springs too.
