Default Help with rear shock, 01 yz250

I live in NY and it has been really cold lately. The other day, i went to move my bike which is stored in an unheated garage, and the shock started pouring out oil. I believe the seal was just way too hard from being cold and couldn't keep tight when i compressed the suspension a little.

Question.
Can i have a shop just refill the oil in it? Can i refill the oil in it? What does it take and how much?
Thanks
Marc

The best advise I can give you is to rebuild your shock. Replace the seals and the oil !!!

Your shock was probably do for a rebuild anyway. Just plan on dumping a hundered bucks into it and you'll be good to go.

It takes a fair amount of knowhow and tools to rebuild a shock. Unless you plan on doing it often, or want to start getting into suspension tuning, send it to a shop.

Most charge somewhere around $80 for a rebuild... and it sounds like you need a seal head, which runs about $40
