Do you know if he uses the Kayaba or Showa oil. Honda has a different bottle for both and the showa one (SS7), is a little bit thicker. Maybe this is what he is using. The Honda / Kayaba oil part # is 08C35-A071M, and the Honda / showa SS7 oil part # is 08208-0005

I will Frakke I will.

Sebastien the oil he uses says HP5 on the label hope that helps.
To all that stop in a read this I took some video and stills of him setting my sag. He is the greatist guy you would ever want to meet. He really knows his sh!$ where bikes are concerned. He told me that he did the suspension for the bike in the valkrey (sp)commercial and when he worked at Scotts they/he did team greens suspension.
I questioned him further about suspension that he worked on and he told me that there are some guys who made him sign a confidentiality agreement not to mention their names but that they were top riders in the us. He has a customer in singapore that uses him. He told me that anybody could send thier shocks and forks to him and he could work it for them.
Long story short when the subject is brought up on the dist 37 web site about suspension there are the big name shops (cattle call) that don't give you personal attention but most likely do good work. Then there are the smaller shops that give you personal attention and treat you like they work for you and have the time to give you everything thay have. About two or three names come up when that situation comes up and his is one of the highly talked about highly recommended shops. Many of the fast guys in the desert where I am racing have the stickers from his shop on their bikes with the clicker info and oil type and amounts along with spring rates that he puts in. If they are winning races or placing high than I want to know what they are running or I want to know what they know that I don't. This is why I chose this shop to do my suspension. I could tell on the way home it was different just hitting the bumps in my truck. I look forward to giving you all a ride report and I will tell all the statistics involved in my suspension that I can.

The honda ss stuff is crappy. I have used it in my shock.

The honda HP 5w that comes in the black bottle isnt bad. Its what I am running now in the yammie, in place of the stock fork goo.

Jason, stay tuned to ATM for a 'how to' instruction on revalving and springing your forks and shocks. I went on to the race tech wab page, entered my info and ordered the revalve and new spring kit. Total was $299 + $8 for shipping.

Tyler and I are going do the work ourselves. In the process we'll take pics and document each step. At $300 it will be well worth the effort and i'll even learn something.

Stay tuned all, parts are on the way..............

This is the owner George putting the finishing touches (at my request) on the blue beast. If you look at the top of the fork tube that is the sticker that tells all about what you haveand clicker settings. Most reputable shops put these on I know Woody_CRF had them too when we were watching Faded and Shifting change his fork oil in the hotel room at Mesquite II.

Appointment must be made to take your whole bike down to his shop as he is very busy and can only hold about 25 bikes at any one time. All bikes are put in the shop at night for safety so this is one reason he can only take 25 at at a time. Anybody can take their suspension in or ship it at anytime and it will also speed up your turn around time.

I can tell you this they are busy but I am nobody and I didn't drop any names. I was treated like royalty and he never hesitated to answer any of my questions. It may sound like a commercial but you don't find this type of service very often in todays business world.

Ty taking a shim stack they laid out to install in a valve set up.

DBD, that shop looks like a A+ org. Clean, organized and by your description : Competent.

Lookin forward to getting mine done. I've always been a bit afraid of forks and revalving should help me overcome it.

Wouldn't have attempted it without Tylers offer to show me how. I think we are both convinced that documenting and taking pic's will be a valuable addition to the ATM knowledge base.

Dane you're so correct. One thing I have learned over the years, these are the only kinds of places I'll give my business to.
