Default Factory Connection

At the beginning of this year I had my suspension done for my CR by a local company, more out of convenience than anything else, because the shop was around the corner from my house. The suspension was awful and I tried messing around with all sorts of settings and I just couldn't get it to a point where I was comfortable. The Factory Connection truck is always at the practice track and at the races every weekend. I spoke with Mike the tech and he spent a lot of time with me setting it up, although it was done by a competitor. Recently I purchased a new bike (RM250) and I figuired I'd have FC do it right from the start. I dropped my suspension off to Mike at the races on a Saturday. He told me he would take it into the shop on Monday morning and someone would call me to go over everything. At 8:30AM Mike called to go over all of my information and make sure it was correct. 5:00Pm the same day he called me back to tell me my suspension was on the UPS truck and on its way back to me. I know its the slow season, but damn that was fast. Mike told me he would guarantee me 100% that I would be happy with the suspension once I got it setup. I told him I am still recovering from a broken wrist and I won't be riding until the spring unfortunately. Mike told me when the spring comes he will meet me at the track one afternoon and spend the time helping me dial it in so its just how I like it. Well, I guess I can't beat that. My wife called me at work today to tell me my suspension had arrived by UPS. Damn!!! now I have to wait until April to try it out If anyone is considering Factory Connection I urge you to do it. They are always at the track helping everybody out with their setups, no matter where you got your suspension done. I am one happy customer, so I just thought I'd share my experience with them.

Heres my suspension:
Showa works forks with TiN coating and anodized fork lugs-49 or 50mm, not sure
Showa works 50mm shock with TiN coating -Large Bladder-Oversized shaft

Now that's customer service which means customer satisfaction

Sounds like Mike runs an awesome setup from the practice track.

WOW, gotta love the look of TiN coating

yeah, what did that set you back? I'd guess quite a bit? Did you have to get heavier springs while you were at it?

Actually I purchased a factory Suzuki race bike. The bike was raced last year at the US open and I believe also at Anaheim 2, so it came with every trick part you could think of. The suspension was set up for a 170lb pro for SX when I got it. I'm no where near that in weight or riding skill and I mostly ride MX, so I had them re-valve the suspension and I had to go with heavier springs, total was just under $700. I was just lucky enough that the works suspension was left on, I couldnt see paying the price they want for TiN coating, especially where I'm only a casual racer.

Absolutely amazing! I can't wait to hear your riding impressions on the suspension, and the bike! I like how they included all the old parts as well, nice touch. Congrats on the bike and the suspension.

Very nice, it's always refreshing to hear about good company's treating people the way they should.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the suspension.

Cool deal man! Although I really dont think those parts look like Works parts, they do look cool. All of the works parts Ive seen have a distinctively different color to the outer fork tubes and usually a section of the shock resevoir is milled out and looks considerably different than that. Still, doesnt matter if they are or not, they look really sweet and Im sure will perform like everything your hoping for...

We've had good luck with them

K-9,
Sweet looking stuff there. Congrats on scoring an ex-factory bike. That looks like the Showa suspension set sold separately. We've used FC for springs and got there videos on suspension work. Good stuff and as fast as you described.

Do you know who used your bike? Just curious is all. Get then to autograph a shroud if you know who and go to an SX where they are.

Regards,
Bill

WOW, how does one "buy" a factory bike? I'll have to talk to KDub and see if I can't get his "Old" factory connection bike

You have to know the right people...

Steve has sent me many pics of this bike...it has all the goods and it is the real deal. They don't just give this stuff away though, so a certain level of confidentiality needs to be maintained. There’s also more than one “factory” and each has a different way of doing things. Believe it or not, but I for one will vouch for Steve’s bike.

And don't PM me for pics, they're not mine to hand out.

i just got my suspension on my 05 crf 450 done by factory connection. Very happy with it!!!!! they cured all of my issues that I had and the turn around was awesome. I sent it out via ground on monday, they got it on wed. at 9am, it was back out the door by 3pm the same day. Got it by friday and had on the bike for riding on saturday. I porbablly could have saved $100 or so bucks elsewhere, but I was very happy with the outcome.
