Default Clymer manual question

the manual said my rear spring min/max preload range for adjustments should be measured from the the top of the mount to the top of the adjuster on the shock. Is this the min/max range of adjusting I can do on the stock spring itself...

they never mention race/static sag specs. I weigh a bit too much for my bike and have wondered just how far down I can push the spring to get an acceptable sag

are these specs in the manual referring to the range that you can adjust the spring?

I'm not sure what the clymers is talking about?

If you are wondering if you can adjust your pre-load so you can set you sag, I would say yes. Chances are pretty good though, depending on what you weigh that you will have better luck with stiffer springs.

As far as adjusting it, just do it.

I thought it was weird too. Just thought i'd ask in case I was missing some detail thing. I tend to skim over the directions and I'm finding out that these bikes aren't like cars. they are a little more precise
