Default AMSOil suspension fluids

I have finally ordered my new springs (heavier) for my RMZ. I'm sick of getting the crap beat out of me.

I also have a leaking fork seal, so it's time.

So my question is, and this is actually more for Scott (mxtras) since I know he's running it, what have you thought of the AMSOil suspension therapy oil at this point?

I'm hoping to start the rebuild on the forks and shock this week (gotta get it done by saturday) and if you hate it I'll go get some maxima or honda oil instead.

So far so good, Woody. I have not yet busted into any of the shocks I serviced in January so the jury is still out but so far I am very happy with it.

Awesome. I'm glad to hear that.

I'll have to report back on what I think after it's had some rides on it.

I did not notice much of a difference in performance in the forks, but the shock stays responsive with less fade at the end of a practice set or moto.

I've been running the Amsoil fluid in my forks and shock and love the stuff..............Granted I have not used anything else, but have had no issues with the stuff and the forks and shock preformed better than the previous fluid it replaced.

Well, I'm excited to give it a shot then. I am quite picky about the oil I use, and I hate it when it goes dead early, so this is good news.

Update -

I went riding this past weekend at Lake Gaston MX. Me and my buddies put a lot of laps in (many, many more than I do at a race) and I have to say - my rear shock will usually get a bit spongy after a long set of laps in the heat but I noticed how consistent it was now. This is the first time I have had a long riding session like this in hot weather since I began using Amsoil in my rear suspension, so I am here to report back on my perceived performance of the Amsoil Suspension fluid for rear shocks (went back to BelRay for the forks).

In comparison to the Yamaha 01 Suspension fluid for the rear shock - the Amsoil stays a LOT more consistent with use. The performance difference between the first and last lap is unnoticeable - even in pretty hot conditions (95F). The most noticeable difference to me is in the low speed compression dampening and rebound. I don't use much rebound dampening, so when it goes away, I can really tell and with the Yamaha 01 fluid, the shock would get noticeably 'springier' after maybe 10-15 minutes of hard riding. The Amsoil does not (in my opinion).

I am sold.

5Wt I believe - I will have to look to be sure.

I run 7WT in the forks for a little more dampening control.

I use the 5wt front and rear. I like it so much that I just got a coupon for a dirt cheap service and seal replacement from Race Tech and when I dropped off the forks and shock I took my Amsoil suspension fluid to have them use it instead of their regular oil. I was kind of embarassed because it was a free gig and the tech told me he uses the Amsoil suspension fluid in his own bikes...I felt better then!!

I can tell you after recently becoming a dealer of Amsoil that all of their products are top notch, after you start researching that company and their products, there really isn't much that stacks up out there.

I actually just ordered some of the 5wt for both ends of my bike when it gets serviced this winter.

I used 7wt in my forks and though I like the fluid a lot so far, I will not use 7wt again in the forks. For my valving it's too thick and causes me to get arm pump if their is any small chop on the track. It just doesn't flow quite well enough for the small stuff. So far I really like it though.

Yep the 5wt is what your after.

Since MadJack graduated from MMI almost 2 years ago and now has a thriving side business preping and working on bikes here in So Cal he uses the Amsoil on all seal changes and oil changes in the forks unless the customer hands him the oil they want. Each and every one of them has raved about how good the forks feel after having the fresh Amsoil fluid in them.

If you haven't tried the Amsoil fluids in your bike your missing out on some of the best fluids for your bike as well as extending the life of your clutches and top ends when using the 2 stroke oil.
