If you and anybody else interested in their bikes longevity would take 20 minutes and read this study of motorcycle oils it would help you understand the forces put on a motorcycle engine and the oil you put in it. I know some say at 8.00 or more a quart that its too expensive to use quality oils, you might think differently after reading this study. Its actually cheap insurance to use a quality synthetic oil in your machine no matter how often you change it. One reason is the viscosity of the oil and how consistent that oil will be under loads and severe temperatures.
It contains a battery of tests and results of most major brands of Synthetic motorcycle oils both in the SAE 40 range (most dirt bikes) and the SAE 50 range (most street bikes).
