Ok any opinions on Redline full synth. 10-30? It doesnt say EC but it does say lowest friction avail. on the back. The reason I ask is because I have a boat load of it for my Drag car.

I use Motul Transoil 10w30. I have used auto trans fluid (Dextron III) before but found I had to change the clutch free travel between hot and cold.

I don't run it in a CR, but I've been running it (ATF F) in a KX65, RM85, and it will be in our new to us YZ125 shortly.

What we found...

the bike shifted better (more smooth) and actually seemed to hook up better too. It also seems to last a bit longer. I'm going to guess the gears have less of a shear affect on the oil than it would on normal 10w40 oil.

We've been happy so far with it, and as a bonus I'm just running Walmarts brand and it seems to work great @ ~3.00 a quart.

man this can go on and on and one judging from the year it was first posted. I have put atf in my two strokes since the 70's. my 87 cr500 has been on it since 1988 when i got it. the transmission still pretty much looks like new. we have run it in my son's cr250 until he switched to belray gearsaver. he seems to like to hear the transmission grind when it goes into gear cold i supose. besides the belray came with a really cool sticker.

if you try it and don't like the way it shifts, then change to something else. from a lubrication standpoint it does fine.

for those running atf another advantage ...if your crank seal in the trans side leaks it will smoke white were regular and synthetic will not they will just foul plugs.
